The name 'Amityville' brings two things immediately to mind. Firstly, an infamous fake/real bestselling book from about 20 years ago about a haunted house in America. Secondly, one of the worst franchises in horror film history, which somehow managed to vomit forth no less than 9 episodes. The series truly reached its nadir in 1996, with the almost unbelievably bad killer fly tale 'Amityville: Dollhouse'. 'Amityville 2: The possession' is undoubtedly the best of the series, and is actually a very good film in its own right. The first Amityville film was in my opinion a sort of decent horror film, though nothing special. However, the movie made plenty at the box office so obviously the filmmakers decided to make a sequel. Firstly let me state that I know that this is the wrong category but as yet there is no category for this dvd release of the Amityville Horror and this disk is a fairly new release in the UK.
