Bean: The Movie (DVD) ... released 05 November, 2002 at Universal Studios / Features of the DVD: Closed-captioned, Colour, Dolby, DVD-Video, NTSC, Widescreen / Translating Rowan Atkinson's Mr Bean character from British television to the big screen takes a bit of a toll, but there are some hilarious sequences in this popular comedy. The eponymous Bean, a boy-man twit with a knack for getting into difficult binds (and then making them worse and worse and worse), is a London museum guard who is sent to Los Angeles in the company of the famous painting Whistler's Mother. He's mistaken as an art expert by the well-meaning curator (Peter MacNicol) of an LA museum, but Bean's famously eccentric behaviour soon causes the poor guy to almost lose his family and job. The insularity of Bean's TV world is sacrificed in this film, and that change diminishes some of the character's appeal. But Atkinson is a man naturally full of comedy, and he doesn't let his fans down. --Tom Keogh

... Rowan Atkins in the same role. Little bit of changes have been made as Mr Bean has never been to America. As anyone who has seen the movie or TV series will agree Mr Bean is more Cartoonish and unreal than an eccentric person. He lives in a universe of his own. His blunders are what make the sketches funny however and many of the blunders in here will be liked by younger audience than some one who is used to decent comedy. Mr Bean is funny with small letter f. I recently watched DVD of the film. I have seen it on ...more

Director: Mel Smith Producers: Rowan Atkinson, Peter Bennet-Jones, Tim Beavan, Richards Curtis, Rebecca O'Brien and Eric Fellner Writers: Rowan Atkinson, Richards Curtis and Robin Driscoll. Stars: Rowan Atkinson, Peter MacNicol, Burt Reynolds, Richards Grant and Pamela Reed Mr Bean, for all those who have never had the pleasure, started life as a television character in several half hour shows. He is a bumbling buffoon whose slow intellect somehow make him come out of most situations looking like the hero. His ability to solve problem in his own special way have created a some what hilarious but rather selfish character, with only a face ...

In this 1997 film Mr Bean goes to California to supervise installation of a famous painting into a local museum. Mr Bean is an interesting character. So you think if you've seen one Mr Bean film you've seen them all, well think again. My daughter of 8 absolutely adores Mr bean and she just laughs and laughs. Having said that so do a lot of other people I know. I have never really been in to the usual silent sketches that he does so I was pleasently suprised when I watched this movie with my husband and daughter. Although he actually speaks during this film it doesn't take anything away from those original sketches and in fact I think it improves on the experience. It is set in America instead of your ususal british scenes where Mr Bean who is actually a museum guard gets mistaken for an art expert. ...
