My four year old was into proper films at an early age. By proper films I mean actual people acting in a film as opposed to cartoons or computer animation. As he was also a massive fan of animals, especially dogs, Beethoven seemed like a prefect film for him. My daughter who has just turned two seems to be following in his footsteps, and having watched the film about 20 times in the last week I feel fully qualified to write this review. The film, Beethoven, is named after the St Bernard dog who stars in it. This is an excellent family film, with plenty of laughter and tears throughout. Beethoven is the family pet who is an extremely large ST Bernard dog. Beethoven is disliked by the father, as he slobers over everything, and he finds him a bit of a pain. The Children and mother however, love him. Beethoven is kidnapped by a laboratory, the story is basically how the family manage to get him back, lots of fun along the way, but also tears, as you think you can predict what is going to happen. It is one your children will watch over and over again, plenty of cute animals. This is a film I would definitely recommend for family viewing, a good one to hire over the ...
