Bubblegum Crisis is something of an anime classic, although I'm pretty sure that its a title that doesn't circle widely or is watched all that much these days. Its a flawed classic, for sure, but I think that its one of the most important and influential anime I've seen for a couple of reasons. back in the 80s cyberpunk was in its infancy as a genre and whilst we were blessed with the likes of Gibson's Neuromancer (not a favourite of mine) there was still a while to go before classics such as Ghost in the Shell were to be born.
