Sorry to say, `The Corruptor' is a ho hum, strictly by-the-numbers police procedural set in a precinct in the heart of New York City's Chinatown. Chow-Yun Fat stars as the officer in charge of the district, a generally serious and dedicated cop whose corruptibility we see played out as he beds local prostitutes and makes cozy sweetheart deals with a racketeer in the neighborhood. The Corruptor is one of those action movies that doesn't really have a lot of ideas but is entertaining. Nick Chen (Chow Yun Fat) is one of the NYPD's most decorated officers. But he has used his close ties with the chinese triads to rise up through the ranks. A new young officer Danny Wallace is brought in to partner Chen and soon a turf war is errupting. This ...

The plot is centered around police corruption and triad dealings in China town in New York, and is in every way convincing as you would expect. Wahlburg is sucked into the area's seedy underbelly, and there are twists in the tale, but I will not spoil a great movie by giving anything away. The Corruptor also has a car ...
