The film basically does the same thing to 'Growing up in the hood'/Black gangsta movies as Scary Movie did to horror films. Therefore to get the full effect from this film I would recommend you watch at least some of the following films: * Boyz 'N' The Hood * Juice * Dead Presidents * Menace 2 Society * Higher Learner I am sure that this will not be too difficult as these films are absolute crackers anyway. Don't Be a Menece stars the two Wayans Brothers Shawn & Marlon (White Chicks) & is produced by their older Brother Keenan Ivory Wayans (Scary Movie), who does have a cameo role as a male man who's only line in the film is "message" this is uttered everytime Ash Tray or Loc dog say something "profound". If you haven't seen a lot of 90's hood movies this movie is not going to give you as many laughs, the two Wayans brothers often reference movies from this genre in speech and a lot of the gags are "extracting the michael" from the genre. ...
