Six inches forward, five inches back....Hedwig has an angry inch. So how did this young slip of a girly-boy become the internationally ignored songstress barely standing before you? Well Hedwig was born a boy named Hansel who's life's dream is to find his other half. As years pass he meets an American GI who offers to marry him once he's had a sex change operation. Quirky (that should guarantee at least one comment!), constasting, funny, sombre, loud, brash, sad and active. Take almost any adjective out of the dictuionary, and it could be applied to this film. I say *almost*? Well, yes. The one thing you can't accuse it of is being boring. While 'This is Spinal Tap' was a trend-setter when it came to "rockumentaries", the genre has never really appealed to me.
