Inspector Morse is such an amazingly realised series that manages to blow the books upon which they are based out of the water. The casting and the scripts are excellent - could you imagine anyone else but John Thaw or Kevin Whately in these roles (the latter now appearing in his own spin off show, which still manages to be very enjoyable in its own right)?
