Although this sequel was released directly to the ‘Sell-through’ market it is of a better quality than similar Disney sequels. It easily surpasses the two Aladdin sequels and Pochahontas 2 in its production quality but falls just short of the standard required for a cinema release. It is let down by the story line which shows little imagination and amounts to a clichéd re-telling of a theme seen a thousand times. A lot of the original character voices from the first film are retained and Matthew Broderick and Neve Campbell are recruited as the principle ‘Stars’.
