When you first plug in this dvd you get to see a screen screen that has the immediate option to view the disc in either English, Danish or Norwegian. As I am not fluent in two out of the three languages I think that I will stick with the English for now. After this you see the usual copyright warning then you get some trailers to view. These are Tarzan, Fantasia 2000, Lady and the Tramp II, Toy Story II and the Tigger Movie. After this you come to the main title screen. Here your options are as follows. 1. At just 4 years old I first saw a film that has pretty much shaped the rest of my life, it was this The Little Mermaid, it was one of the first films I remember and as my Mum reminds me even now I declared at the end of it that I wanted to be a mermaid, a declaration I am still making even now 18 years later (although I am as close as I'm going to get I suspect). So how exactly did this story of the stubborn mermaid Princess capture my imagination? I suspect it is the Disney magic, a combination of the bright colours, lively fish, catchy songs and of course a glimpse in to a world that Disney has revisited not so long ago with another of my favourite films ...

The Little Mermaid. Nothing-fishy here! A favourite Disney classic in which Aerial the Mermaid sings her way through the enchanted underwater kingdom. Released in the cinema in 1990, it was available for a short time on video in 1991. Rated as U (universal), it is 80 minutes long, and is totally suitable for youngsters and the young at heart. It is quite collectable, as it is nearly impossible to order. This wonderful fairytale has been superbly brought to life by the magicians at the Disney studios.
