~~~Background~~~ In 1968, a man named Richard Hooker penned a blackly humorous novel entitled M*A*S*H, A Novel About Three Army Doctors. It became a popular read, and spawned several sequels. The book told the tale of surgeons Hawkeye, Trapper, Frank Burns and their comrades at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War. In 1971, a film adaptation was released in cinemas and gathered a huge following.
