Do you enjoy a little something to help you escape from the realities of everyday life? No, I don’t mean the stuff that comes in a bottle, or that you mix with tobacco. I mean romance and fantasy; the kind that’s made in Hollywood. Save The Last Dance is exactly that. Romance and fantasy. Sure, there are issues raised in the film, none of which are original, and there are too many for one film. This is one of those "feel good" movies about following your dreams which I found very enjoyable, albeit that a lot of the tale was quite predictable. There were a few twists and turns along the way, but I think it is obvious that things will work out in the end. Sara (Julia Stiles) is a budding ballerina, whose dream is to attend Juilliard. At the beginning, she comes across as almost selfish ( I felt). Her single mother has worked long and hard to give her a middle class, suburban upbringing and allow her the opportunity to pursue her dreams, yet Sara (although loving her mother dearly) seems almost brattish when her mother has to work later, on ...
