Advantages: Cleans teeth well and only cost £15
Disadvantages: Needs charging all of the time.
I like to take care of my appearance and I think the two main things everyone should take care of are teeth and hair. They are the two things I notice when I first meet someone. Now I would love to have gorgeous white teeth like the all the celebrities do (think Simon Cowell) but unfortunetely until I have thousands of pounds to spend on veneers I'll have to settle for my electric toothbrush.
When it comes to buying electric toothbrushes there are so many different ones to choose from, surely they only do the same thing. You can literally spend hundreds of pounds on them. The Braun Oral-B Advance is one of the cheapest available, I got mine from Morrisons and it cost £14.99.
"The Oral-B Advance Power toothbrush has been developed together with leading dental professional to effectively remove plaque from all areas of your teeth."
When you open your toothbrush you are supplied with one brush head, the toothbrush and a charging unit. The brush heads need replacing after a while and these can be bought seperately. The charging unit did not fit into a normal plug so I had to buy an adapter but I think this was only about 25p from Wilkinson.
One disadvantage with this toothbrush is that it needs charging all of the time. It does actually say that a full charge takes 16 hours and lasts approx. 20 minutes. It does suggest that the toothbrush can be stored in the charging unit as overcharging is impossible but I personally don't like my toothbrush kept in my bedroom charging and it is impossible to charge in the bathroom without a plug socket.
One good aspect about the toothbrush is that there is a timer which memorises elapsed brushing time and after two minutes the timer signals by a short stutter. This helps in making sure you brush your teeth for long enough.
I like this toothbrush and using it makes me feel I am doing a better job of cleaning my teeth than just using a normal toothbrush. My teeth always feel really clean after using it and everytime I go to the dentist he comments on what a good job I do of cleaning my teeth. Maybe if I had the money I would buy and try a more expensive electric toothbrush but at the moment I am more than happy with my £15 toothbrush from the supermarket.
Summary: A great toothbrush for the price.
