Advantages: Bright and cheerful - good incentive
Disadvantages: Chunky Handle and noisy
As a mum to 3 children i decided that as my toothbrush(electric) was always so coveted
by my children i would take the incentive and buy them their very own, big girl/boy toothbrush.
These brightly colored electric toothbrushes are powered by batteries(which come included) and have removable heads. The Heads come with different designs which i have found useful so the kids can all distinguish their own particular one.
The actual toothbrush is quite chunky and not particularly heavy(even for my 2 year old).
The problem with them being so chunky is that my youngest finds it difficult to manouver and my eldest(10) thinks they are too childish. The actual mechanics of it are quite gentle and not too fast or intrusive. They are a novelty factor and they do give children an incentive to brush their teeth, but i can't help feeling that there is no need for them at such a young age. This model does not have a timer nor does it have a pressure gauge like adult brushes which makes them simple to use, you do need to be vigilant that they are turned off tho!
The actual mechanics of it are quite good but the toothbrush is actually quite noisy for such a small thing.
My little one grew bored of it after the first few times and went back to her princess manual one which she uses with enthusiasm every day, while the other sits on the side.
These are perfect if your children needs some encouragement to independently brush their own teeth but my opinion remains the same - an oral b non electric kids toothbrush is just as good if not better than this electric one.
They are a good price to buy (about£11.99) and the heads are reasonable at £5.00(or around there) for 2. So if your determined that an electric way is best for milk teeth then i would recommend this brand but overall a regular toothbrush is just as good.
Summary: A good kids electric toothbrush - bright and funky
