Oral-B D9 Solo Plaque Remover
Advantages: Good model and cleans well
Disadvantages: none I can thibk of
I have had my Braun Oral B D9 Solo Plaque Remover now for about seven years - yes, it is a long time, but that is how long this has lasted me. Obviously I have had to change the heads a lot of times since I bought it but it is still going strong.
I paid around £14 for it, but it was a long time ago, so it may have been a little bit less. It is old fashioned looking now and possibly a bit bulky looking compared to the newer more streamlined, sleeker models you can buy now, but to be honest, if it does the job, that is all I am interested in. It's a 'clean' looking brush in bright white and turquoise. It has stood on my window sill now for these past seven years and it is used about twice a week and the sun has made the white fade to a pale creamy yellow colour. It has a neat charger and you have to charge it up for sixteen hours before you want to use it. The charge will last a long time though.
It is easy to manipulate and handle and use, considering it is such an old design. It has a soft rubbery on / off button and a two minute buzzer type warning which tells you that you've been using it for the two minutes. I remember thinking seven years ago that this device was rather sophisticated - how what a long way we have come with technology.
I plug it into my bathroom shaver socket to charge it and often take it away with me if we go on family holidays as I miss the clean feeling it gives to my teeth if I haven't used it for a while.
The bristles work well and rotate expertly and leave my teeth feeling like I have just stepped out of the dental hygienist's chair. Perfect! It really does remove all the plaque much better than a manual toothbrish and none of theis wrist action is needed either, as the heads rotate round and do all the hard work for you. My dentist told me years ago what an improvement he saw in thee health of both my teeth and gums after I had been using this for a while. I was recommnded it by him as I was suffering from the first stages of gum disease - gingivitis and I had to have a series of nasty injections in my mouth and gums to stop the disease from spreading. My breath smelled foul and it was badly affecting my love life and this was a Godsend to me.
Greatly recommended though I don't know if this particular model is still for sale.
Summary: good all round plaque remover
