Oral-B Professional Care 1000
Advantages: Easy to use, cleans well
Disadvantages: Is a little pricey
I have never used an electric toothbrush before and decided to give one a go after a friend recommend how good they were in general. I did a lot of research and picked the Oral B Professional Care 1000, I got one for myself and my husband, as they were half price in Boots just after christmas, they usually retail at £59.99.

What's in the box:
Oral-B Braun Professional Care 1000 electric toothbrush
1 precision clean brush head
Charging station with brush stand
The toothbrush is white and blue and has an easily detachable head, so brush replacement and cleaning is very easy. The toothbrush comes with a recharging station, that you sit the toothbrush on and plug into the mains, its flashes green whilst charging, this only comes with a twin head plug, you need to buy an adapter, if you do not have a twin pronged socket in your bathroom. When you first get the toothbrush you have to charge it for about 17 hours, and once charged it lasts about I week, when brushing twice daily. I find that throughout the week the toothbrush tends to loose a bit of power, so would recommend charging it up every 4-5 days rather than when the red light indicating it needs charging flashes up.
The brush is easy to use, though at first it a bit weird as you do not brush your teeth like with a regular manual toothbrush, you simply glide the toothbrush over each tooth and your gums and it does all the work for you. The brush head is fairly small and can reach into all the nooks and crannies of your mouth and overall you are left with clean set of teeth that feel clean when licked over with your tongue. I also find that as the brush head is small, I am only using a pea sized amount of toothpaste, as recommend, before I would use more on my regular toothbrush, so my toothpaste is lasting a bit longer. If you use too much pressure when brushing the toothbrush vibrates and flashes and then you just ease up on the pressure, this is a useful feature, as my husband did tend to use too much pressure with a manual toothbrush judging by the bristles on it. Also the toothbrush runs on a two minute cycle and gently pulsates when you need to move on to the next section of your mouth, this ensures you get an even clean.
Overall I have had a good experience using this toothbrush and am glad I made the switch to electric, I would recommend to others.
Summary: Does a good job a cleaning your teeth
