This brush still cleans after some 9 years!

Oral-B Professional Care 7000
Advantages: Very reliable, easy to use, 2 modes
Disadvantages: Brush heads expensive and not very long lasting
I have bought this toothbrush some 8 or 9 years ago at my dentist and to my surprise it is still running strong now.
While the 7000 is a rather old model, it cleans very thoroughly and can use the basic "Precisicion Clean" brush heads, though not some of the fancier whitening heads. It has 2 modes: Normal clean and Sensitive. The first button press results in the strong clean mode and pressing the button the second time will slow the brush movements down to the sensitive mode. Pressing the button a third time turns the brush off again.
Normally, charging the toothbrush fully will take about 8-9 hours and that should last up to a week when brushing your teeth twice a day for a bit longer than 4 cycles. However, as you may imagine, after the many years of service, the charging times have gone up to about 11 hours and the brush's battery only lasts about 3 days - the indicator charging light also stopped working.
The toothbrush has a bit of a life of its own and will stutter every 30 seconds when turned on. This is an indicator that you should move from one quadrant in your mouth to the next. While this is not absolutely necessary, its still helpful to keep track of time.
Mechanical toothbrushes like this one oscillate on their own and do not require you to perform any brushing movvements - simply move the toothbrush slowly from one area to the next. Still, that doesn't mean you can't gently brush while it is running to clean some hard-to-reach areas. In fact, my dentist recommended that I do so.
Ever since using this brush, I have had minimal amounts of plaque and dentists have been surprised how well my teeth have been kept, considering I see the dentist maybe once a year at most.
However, I should note that brush heads are not cheap and while advertised as lasting up to a month, usually start getting painful to use after two weeks, when the hairs point in all kinds of directions!
I would warmly recommend this brush to anyone looking for a cheap and reliable brush. However, as is the case with technology, you may find the newer models more to your liking - i.e the 1000, 2000 or 3000 Professional Care. As you can see the numbering is a bit strange, which is why I included it here.
Summary: Keep your teeth clean and healthy with Oral-B toothbrushes
