Advantages: Easy to use, leaves teeth and gums feeling clena and refreshed, easy ot charge

Disadvantages: None that I have found

When I was younger I had to wear braces, full on fixed braces as well as wearing the retainers for years after. It would be a fair comment to say that I suffered throughout my teenage years with my teeth but I always followed the dentist's advice and after having an operation to correct my bite and smile I decided that I would but an electric toothbrush. I have no idea what that actual toothbrush was but the one that I am using now is a Braun Rechargeable Electric toothbrush.

I have been using the toothbrush for about a year now; it replaced my previous one that had just seen the test of time and was looking old so I replaced it with the Braun 8000 model. It cost me about £35.00 and the toothbrush is available from most electrical shops, such as Comet and Curry's, High street stores such as Boots and Lloyds as well as internet sites such as Amazon.

The toothbrush comes in a rectangular cardboard box and contains quite a lot of information on the front of it. There is of course the Braun logo as well as the Oral-B logo and the name of the model that you have brought. There is quite a big picture of the toothbrush on the front which I like as you can see the model that you are buying. Like most toothbrushes the main colour is white as well as the rechargeable base being white. There is also a little bit of blue on the toothbrush.

The main features of this toothbrush are printed on the box, this are according to Braun that the toothbrush has 2 speed settings, it is good for sensitive teeth and will offer a good cleanse of your teeth. This is all I wanted my toothbrush to do, anymore and it becomes a gadget in my opinion. As you open the box you find an instruction booklet that will tell you all you need to get the toothbrush charged and how to get the best out of it.

To charge the toothbrush you need to plug the base in (it does require a 2 pin plug) and it will show a green light, this light will flash whilst the charging is taking place and once it is charged the light will remain constant. My old toothbrush did not have this feature so I am impressed with this, it may be simple but I never really knew how long to leave my old brush charging for. When the toothbrush gets low a red light will begin to flash but to be honest you can normally feel on your teeth that the toothbrush is not working quite as fast as normal and that it is time for a charge. I find that I need to charge the toothbrush about every 5 days.

It is worth mentioning that the toothbrush comes with 3 different heads. These are by Oral-B and 2 are cleaning heads and the other is a sensitive head. When the heads do need replacing you can easily buy them from the stores that the toothbrushes can be brought from.

When it comes to using the toothbrush I found it to be really good. There is no real brushing involved as all you need to really do is glide the toothbrush around your mouth and onto your teeth. You need to apply no pressure or you will end up with sore teeth and gums, the brush really does glide over your teeth. The brush is quite light to hold, a lot lighter than I had imagined. The handle makes it easy to move the toothbrush around your mouth.

The toothbrush needs a gentle wipe down with warm water now and again as it does get that build up of toothbrush o it and will end up looking quite grubby if you don't clean it.

In summary, this is a great toothbrush. It is great for cleaning and leaving your teeth and gums feel great, it is sensitive to your teeth and there is no pressure involves, just a good clean of your teeth. It is easy to charge up and the toothbrush itself is really light.

5 out of 5 from me
