Advantages: Good value easy to use
Disadvantages: replacmant heads can be expensive
I have had my Braun Oral-B dual clean for about a month now, prior to that i used a manual toothbrush.
First i will have a moan about the packaging, i hate anything that comes packed in these heat sealed rigid plastic packs, yes it looks nice on the shelf and you can see what your getting but you cant get it out the pack without a tool kit and a first aid kit! so put it in a recyclable cardboard box please Braun.
In the pack you get the toothbrush, instruction leaflet, two dual clean heads and a stand/charger which has a two pin shaver type plug, if you don't have a socket like this you can get an adapter for around a pound in your local DIY/pound shop.
The brush heads are designed to change colour after so long so you know when to replace them, however replacement heads are expensive.
The heads are interchangeable with most other toothbrushes in the oral-b range including the precision clean, white+clean and sensitive so if your not happy with the dual clean heads supplied you can try one of the others when you buy some replacement heads, i find the dual clean head a little bulky and it takes a bit to get used to it after using a manual brush but it does what it says on the box (plastic cover) and cleans your teeth fast and very efficiently.
The toothbrush it's self is comfortable to hold and not to heavy, it has a soft grip handle with ridges on it so it wont slip out your hand and it totally water proof which makes it easy to clean after use.
You have one easy to press on/off button and after it has been running for 2 minutes it buzzes on and off a couple of time to let you know when to stop.
I know you can keep it on the stand/charger to trickle charge all the time but as my charger is not in the bathroom i tend to put mine on charge overnight once a week even though it shows no sign of running down.
It connects to the charger by locating on a plastic pin on the base so it is stood upright, the base of the stand is not that big so if knocked it can easy topple over, although this does not cause any danger it will stop charging unless you pick it back up!
It is good brush at a good price, i don't think you need anymore then this toothbrush has and it cleans much better then a manual one so it's an ideal budget intro to electric tooth brushing!
Extra information
All braun oral-b brushes are half price at the moment and some high street shops have them for as little as £10! and shop around for the replacement heads as superdrug/boots and other shops have half price promo's some times.

Some really good info here. How much is it though without the high street price? How long does it last for generally before it needs charged again? How much are the replacement heads? Noisy? |
