Oral-B Vitality Dual Clean
Advantages: Good design, good clean - mouth felt fresh afterwards
Disadvantages: Possibly dangerous - head broke apart in my mouth
I owned this toothbrush before my current one and primarily bought it because the dual-head feature intrigued me as it seemed different to what I had used in the past and I had high hoped that it may clean my teeth better. It did.
With many of the circular heads, I found that with the pressure I applied, my teeth would go into the head bristles which is not ideal - dentists often say about people applying too much pressure and I assume this is part of the result. With this dual headed toothbrush I found that this didn't happen - I found that for the same pressure I was still getting great contact with my teeth but it was not going into the head any therefore brushing my teeth was very pleasant.
The toothbrush itself has a nice design, fairly lightweight and of good size which makes it comfortable to hold whilst brushing your teeth without any discomfort. The buttons are in a perfect place for operation by your thumb. However I did not see any reason why there had to be two buttons - one for on and one for off - many of their newer models use a single on/off button which is just as effective. It doesn't cause any trouble but I did find it a little strange.
Its battery life is pretty good, out of a single charge I can usually get about two days of brushing out of it however I still tend to charge it each night so that the bristles are workign at the highest speed. As the battery begins to die the bristles move more slowly and therefore the clean is both not as good and takes longer to complete.
What disappointed me about this toothbrush was that the head broke apart after about 6 months. By broke apart I mean that the second head literally came off the rest of the head whilst I was brushing. Although 6 months is more than the recommended replacement time of the heads, I was shocked that it would ever leave a small hard piece of plastic floating in my mouth. I was fine with this but anybody not paying much attention or those young or elderly could have easily choked on it. I was really disappointed by this considering it was doing so very well.
Summary: Cleans very well, just make sure it doesn't kill you.
