Braun Oral B Vitality Precision Clean Toothbrush

I have been using this product for about 9 months now so I thought it was about time that I wrote a review as I have really benefited from using this toothbrush.

Before I had an electric toothbrush I had heard really good things about them and so decided to buy one on the strength of this. Apparently electric toothbrushes remove 2 times more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush. This is great as plaque can cause gingivitis and so to be able to get rid of it more effectively is a great benefit of an electric toothbrush in my opinion.

Oral B say that their precision clean toothbrushes Advanced Technology to surround each tooth and that superior stain removal versus a regular manual brush means teeth are naturally whitened. I do agree with this statement. I have found that since using this toothbrush my teeth are definitely whiter, granted they are not Californian white but they have improved and I am impressed with this.

The toothbrush heads are little and round and when you turn on the toothbrush it is this head that vibrates and spins around to clean your teeth. You basically just hold the brush against your teeth and let it do the work itself, you do not need to do the brushing motion that you do with a regular toothbrush. I definitely feel like these brush heads get into more places than a regular toothbrush can and also apply more pressure and cleaning techniques than you could do yourself. According to the information on the toothbrush there are 7,600 oscillating movements per minute which you could never achieve by doing this yourself. After I have brushed my teeth feel really clean and if you run your tongue along them you get that nice squeaky clean feel.

The on switch is located on the handle of the toothbrush. You just press it for on and for off. The handle itself has a rubber grip and is wider than a regular toothbrush but I think this makes it very easy to grip and easy to use.

I think one of the best features of this toothbrush is that it has a timer in the handle that helps your brush for 2 minutes. I'm sure nobody really brushes their teeth enough each time they do it because I know dentist recommend that you brush each time for at least two minutes in order for it to be effective. It's hard to estimate two minutes in my opinion but when your time is up on this toothbrush it buzzes 3 times to let you know that you have been going for 2 minutes. This is great because I just carry on brushing until I hit this time limit and then stop knowing I have brushed well.

Another good feature of this toothbrush is that the bristles are indicator bristles which will fade to halfway to indicate that it is time to replace the heads. They start off blue and lose their colour when they are being used. This is great because often you never know when to replace a new brush and with this system the indication is made for you. The heads slide onto the top of the toothbrush and are easily replaced however, they fit quite snugly and do not come off or come loose when you are using the toothbrush. A pack of 8 replacement heads costs £28.99 at Boots.

When you purchase the toothbrush it comes with a rechargeable stand that you can plug in in your bathroom. This looks just like a phone charger as you put the toothbrush in the stand and it charges it up. Apparently a full charge lasts up to 5 days. I would definitely have to agree with this. I went away for a week and did not take the charger with me and the toothbrush was still working at the end of the week. You can tell when it does start to lose charge as the pulsating slows down a bit but once it is fully charged it is back up to speed again.

I purchased my toothbrush for approximately £30 but at the moment they are half price at Boots. I definitely would recommend an electric toothbrush to anybody and especially one from the Oral B Range.
