I am sure that most people like me hate the dentist, and only go because hubby and I go together otherwise you would not get me in to that waiting room. My legs turn to jelly and my stomach churns and I feel sick. Bet you know the feeling too.
I went to my dentist for my six-month check on Friday and I was amazed. I was in the chair for less then 5 minutes. I reckon it could have been no more than 2.5 minutes.
This was all thanks to my Colgate ActiBrush (sounds like I am accepting a Oscar for best actress or something. I would like to thank my mum, dad and my two rabbits Dax and Smudge;>). I bought it in Boots earlier on the this year (I think that it was in January so it was after my last scrape, polish and bleed. Well that is what happens to me any way)it cost £9.99 as it was on special deal. It came with engerizer batteries and one head. So it was ready to use.
I had never had an electric toothbrush before but thought that it might help to make sure that my teeth kept that just been to the dentist feeling. I bought a spare set of heads in Wilkinsons for £3.79 rather than then £4.99+ from other shops.
As it has a little round head rather than a long head you can only put a small amount of toothpaste on. So you don’t foam at the mouth like a rabid dog. And as you don’t foam then it means that you can keep going for longer. I find that it clean really well along the gum line as then you use a normal brush it never seem to get at the plaque that forms at the base of you bottom teeth no matter how hard you scrub. But with my Colgate ActiBrush no problems. I spend time on each tooth on the inside and out. The teeth feel clean and fresh.
But as I not so sure that it cleans deep inside the tooth I get my old manual brush out and have a quick whiz around.
Well once I had let my Dentist have a root around he was more than happy and told me that if I kept the deposits down as they where at pre
sent then my gums would be healthy and I would not lose my teeth. And my hubby was surprised that I was out so quickly. And I was so happy as my Dentist did not have to hook about in my mouth so much. And it did not hurt so much.
Hubby was not keen on ActiBrush but now he has changed his mind after I got away with do little scraping.
So three cheers to my Colgate ActiBrush.
PS it even works after being dropped in the bath removed very quickly and then dried for a couple of days.
