Advantages: gets your teeth really clean

Disadvantages: not as cheap as normal toothbrushes

My Colgate Actibrush was an impulse purchase, while buying toothpaste in Asda. I'd always wanted an electric toothbrush since i was young, but it was purely the novelty factor than attracted me, so it had never been high on my list of prority purchases. Really i thought the idea a little silly, and thought it the toothbrush for people too lazy to brush their teeth.

But anyway I ended up buying one, and now I wish I'd bought one years ago. My teeth have never felt this clean and shiny all the time. The first time I used it, it was a bit peculiar. It's an odd sensation and takes a little getting used to. It says on the packaging that your gums may bleed until they get used to it. It does seem very abrassive and juddery, but you do get used to it.

The heads are replaceable and cost about £3 each. It is recommended that you change these every 3 months. The battery life is also about 3 months. The heads have different coloured rings on them - useful if several people in the same household have one.

I would definately recommend this toothbrush, it gets your teeth cleaner than a normal toothbrush in less time.
