Hello! and welcome to this review. Now what can I write about a toothbrush? Im sure I will find something:) So hear we go. Well I used to own a Philips Sonicare brush that I paid a whopping £119 for!! But I had a bit of an accident. Down the loo went my lovely Philips, mainly because of my damn clumsy hands! My parents have recently "converted" to electronic toothbrush users and are very happy with them. It's saved them money at the dentist they told me at which point my frugal ears pricked up and I decided to give it a go! There seem to be two types of power to them either batteries that you put in yourself or plug it in and ...  Read the complete review

I love those toothpaste adverts, you know, the ones where the beautiful supermodels smile at you and it seems like all the light in the room is reflected from their mouths. It's amazingly funny how their teeth make that great little pingy noise and glare a blinding whiteness as if they have been bathing their teeth in Daz for a week. Isn't it ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Colgate ActiBrush
by mrpositive - written on 14/08/08
Rating:

I found the ActiBrush to be one of the worst battery powered brushes I've used over the years.

It uses batteries really quickly and sometimes the contacts aren't too good so I have to shake it to make it work.

I can see why Colgate tell us to move it around in the mouth like a conventional toothbrush, the motor is so weak the brushes stop moving if you hold the brush still on a tooth or the batteries are not 100%.

I have two of them, one for traveling and one for home, they both are both a waste of time. Unfortunately I purchased eight replacement heads so I will loose out when I by another brush.

I have to be honest, this is not the usual standard of Colgate products.

Premium Review Colgate ActiBrush: A worthy successor? (997 words)

As you may have guessed from my previous reviews, now that I'm getting a bit long in the tooth, the incentive to look after what dental assets that remain increases. Sadly I inherited the duff tooth genes from my Mother rather than the better ones from my Father and so my teeth have been going through pretty much the same progression as hers. So ...  Read the complete review

I have had this toothbrush for a few years now and it always does the job nicely. I had always used an electric toothbrush since I was about 13. First my parents had a rechargeable that we each had a different brush head for, so I used that until I moved out but then I still wanted a powered toothbrush but didn’t want to spend the money to get a ...  Read the complete review

A great cheap vibrator (891 words)
by - written on 24/06/02

When my daughter turned five, I decided it was time to buy her a vibrator - and it’s so good, now the whole family uses it. I am talking, of course, about her Colgate Actibrush battery-powered toothbrush. We were going through that awkward five-year-old stage where she wouldn’t brush her teeth, or wash her face, or ...  Read the complete review

You know how it is when you go to the dentist and all he/she does is clean your teeth, and SOMEHOW afterwards, your teeth always manage to feel about half their usual size, and you can almost feel the wind whistling between them like stones in a Druidic circle? Well - hold on to that thought??? For me that feeling usually only lasts a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Colgate ActiBrush: There's a party in my mouth and everyones invited (656 words)

I bought the Colgate Acti-brush back in April, as I was fed-up with the old fashioned brush. They didn’t last very long with me, the bristles would be all flattened in no time, and they are not exactly cheap for what they are. I’m also rather lazy, and the constant effort required morning and night was becoming a concern. Then I saw ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Going at it hammer and tongs... (427 words)

A lot of opinions and ideas on electric toothbrushes seem to place the emphasis on laziness but it ain’t necessarily so! I had trouble brushing my teeth manually for a long time due to an illness which effects my muscles and joints and my teeth suffered for it resulting in several extractions. My dentist and well-meaning friends ...  Read the complete review

Colgate ActiBrush: smile please (513 words)

I am sure that most people like me hate the dentist, and only go because hubby and I go together otherwise you would not get me in to that waiting room. My legs turn to jelly and my stomach churns and I feel sick. Bet you know the feeling too. I went to my dentist for my six-month check on Friday and I was amazed. I was in the chair ...  Read the complete review

Arnt teeth just great things! People really take them for granted dont they! And then they moan when they have endless trips to the dentist! I happen to like my dentist (apart from the fact he's not *that* much older than me and is absoultely gorgeous!), he's a good dentist too! <added bonus>! However having said all of that, I ...  Read the complete review

If like me, you hate going to the dentists, then an electric toothbrush maybe the answers to your fears. I've been using a Colgate Actibrush for about 10 months now and after being a bit sceptical that a battery brush would not be able to deliver as well as a mains charged one, I have been pleasantly surprised. I naughtily used my sisters electric toothbrush when I discovered it in the bathroom cabinet - she'd have killed me if she knew, coz she's a bit anal like that, but I couldn't resist it. I've been using a Colgate Actibrush for the last few months or so and I think it's brilliant! It turns 2000 times every minute which is pretty good for a battery operated brush. I've just bought the Colgate Actibrush electric toothbrush and it's pretty cool mainly because it takes the hassle out of brushing my teeth. We used to have a 'real' electric toothbrush and it was good but the battery died very quickly so we went back to the shop where it came from, they gave us a brand new toothbrush, and once again the battery died very quickly, so when they offered us another one, we said 'no, thank you very much we'd rather brush our teeth with a ...  Read the complete review
