~A floss action 4 pack from Oral B~
**************************
Having bought one of these Oral B 4 pack refills a while ago I am pleased to say that so far I am still using the first of the brush heads from the pack, due to it not having degraded in any way even after repeated use. I have used all types of the available Oral B replacement brush heads that can be bought for an Oral B electric toothbrush at various times and found each to be of a good quality .I am using one of the floss action Oral B replacement toothbrush heads from the 4 pack on my main electric toothbrush at the moment and have found that it seems to be working as well as ever.
I have found that the quality of these original Oral B brush heads is much better than many of the cheaper non branded refills you can buy, as they tend to fit the brush head fitment on Oral B brushes much better in my opinion. Even though the cheaper refills can be as much as 1/8th of the cost of the original Oral B products cost to buy, I do prefer the branded products as I feel that they tend to stay in place on the brush head fitment without slipping around when in use. It can be very annoying when the brush heads come loose or don't fit well, but that has never been the case when using these official floss action brush heads in my experience.
These Oral B 4 packs sometimes come with a freebie item attached which was the case when I bought my most recent pack of these, as there was a sample of some Oral B toothpaste inside the product pack, which was a nice addition. The cardboard inner part of the packs is sealed by an outer plastic cover which I feel works well to ensure that the brush heads remain fresh and untouched prior to purchase. Each of the 4 refill heads sits neatly inside the pack ready for use, which can then be used to store them away in safely.
~Durable and easy to clean~
**********************
The materials used to make these brush heads is strong, durable and easy to handle in my opinion. The simple white plastic material used on the main part of these brush heads has a smooth finish that can be regularly rinsed with clean water after use without causing any harm at all. To fit the brush head you simply click it in to place on the main body of your toothbrush and to remove the brush head for cleaning you pull lightly on it to release it, which I find both quick and easy to do.
Each brush head can last for around 3 months at a time with careful handling and regular cleaning to keep it hygienic and ready to use, which means that 1 pack of 4 brush heads could potentially last for a full year. Cleaning the brush heads can be done quite easily by either micro waving them in a bowl of clean hot water for 30 seconds, or by placing them in freshly boiled water that has been cooled slightly for a similar amount of time. Using these methods should help to keep the brush heads germ free and therefore extend their usage time.
~An easy way to identify your toothbrush~
********************************
The bottom of each brush head has a fitment that you can attach a simple slim coloured ring to, that sits at the base of the brush head and this clicks in to place before you fit the whole thing to your toothbrush. The bottom of each brush head has a fitment that you can attach a simple slim coloured ring to, that sits at the base of the brush head and this clicks in to place before you fit the whole thing to your toothbrush. The idea of fitting either the provided sea mint green/ or peppermint blue coloured ring to the base of your brush head is one that might seem a little odd in a way, as you may think the slight change in appearance is purely cosmetic and doesn't add much to the overall look of the product.
However in reality the provision of these simple coloured rings has proven to be very useful in my household, as there is more than one Oral B electric brush in use. Placing either a blue or green ring on a new brush head has been a good way to identify whose toothbrush is whose, which I feel has been of great help. It may have otherwise been far more difficult to work out which toothbrush was which had all the brush heads and toothbrush bodies looked 100% identical, as even though you can buy various models of Oral B toothbrushes many of them consist of the same base with a different brush head fitted.
~Using the brush heads~
*******************
In use these floss action brushes do work well, although I wouldn't say that they will eliminate the need to floss teeth on a regular basis. The difference in the action of these brushes varies to that of other refill brushes from the Oral B range as there are 4 floss action fitments (micro pulse bristles) that sit at 4 points on the brush heads. The floss action fitments are made from a flexible rubber type material that seems to flap about a little when the brush head is in use and this is what should help to produce a floss type cleaning action. In reality whilst I find the results I get with one of these brushes is very good, this type of brush cannot ever truly compete with regular flossing in my opinion as the brush head cannot really get in to the areas between the teeth that floss or tape can even though directions say that could be the case.
I feel that these brush heads make a nice compliment to a regular tooth cleaning regime that includes flossing and should not be used as an instead of flossing product, as in my experience I still need to floss my teeth when using these brushes to get best results. The rest of the bristles on these floss action brushes are much the same as on the other Oral B brush heads, although the Precision Clean brush heads from the same brand do seem to have a slightly longer bristle length, that cleans the harder to reach areas of my teether quite well in my opinion.
The results I get when using these brush heads is better than when using a standard manual type toothbrush and I find I like them a little more than the Oral B Whitening brush heads that you can buy.
Over time the blue tint that you see on Oral B brush heads when new can, does and will fade down over time with repeated usage. This colour fading is meant to happen as it gives you a clear indication of when you need to change your brush head and I find it can be a helpful feature of such products. The over all feeling I get when I have used these floss action brushes to clean my teeth with, is one of having nice freshly cleaned and polished teeth. These floss action brush heads rotate when in use and will buzz if pressed against the tooth surface too hard when in use, which is something I make sure to avoid by only using the brush head lightly to clean my teeth with. The amount of buzz you get if you apply too much pressure depends on how fast the rotating action on the actual brush body you are using is. Either way it isn't overly pleasant and should be avoided with more careful usage.
~Product rating/ price~
******************
My rating for these brush head refill packs is 4 stars as I feel they are very good, but can be expensive to buy at full price. The cost per brush head can be as low as £3 if bought as a 4 pack for £11.99 or as much as £4.75 per brush head if bought for £18.99 per pack. There are very often savings to be had on these brushes and I feel it pays to shop around if possible to get the best value for money. The cost of buying these brush head packs can be expensive in my opinion and as mentioned they can sell for anything from £18.99 per pack at full price, down to £11.99 at time when the packs are on an offer or deal.
