The heads are priced at anything from £10 up to £20 and are available in three different pack sizes, 2pack, 4pack and 8pack.
There are a lot of cheaper heads available which will fit the Oral B toothbrush however I have tried this in the past and found that they don't last as long, nor do they clean as well so I always think its better to pay that little bit more.
Fitting the replacement head to my toothbrush is really easy; simply push down into place and it will make a small click sound when it is secure. I find that once attached, it stays securely in place and doesn't move at all. When it comes to replacing, all I need to do is pull the head off the main toothbrush; again, this is really easy to do.
In the pack there are also several little coloured rings, I must say, I never really knew what these were for until my mum told me recently, they are so if there are a few of you using the same bathroom, you can colour code whose brush is whose by adding one of the rings to the base of the brush head. If like me, you don't use these (as my hubby and I have completely different toothbrushes); the brush is still secure and works fine.
The heads come in a nice sealed pack and what I like the most is that each individual head is also sealed in its own packaging so I don't have to worry about storing these or them collecting dust, I can just pop them in my bathroom drawer.
The inner bristles of the brush are white and the outer ones are navy with an area to the top and bottom on pale blue bristles, these paler ones will fade in colour over time which is an indicator as to when the bristles need to be replaced. I like this feature however I tend to make my own judgement as to when to replace based on the straightness or firmness of the bristles. I find that the heads will last about 3 months before I need to replace, that is if I ensure that they are cleaned thoroughly after each use.
I find that when I use these brush heads, my teeth always look and feel clean, the bristles are really soft and don't hurt my gums when using, yet hard enough to get in and out of all the little crevices to ensure my teeth are super clean.
I would definitely recommend these heads and would give them 5 out of 5 stars.
Every time I picked my Oral B electric toothbrush up over the last few weeks I thought I must replace the head as I was aware that I had been using it for some time, but then I had forgotten about it until the next time I picked it up, so I eventually wrote myself a note and popped it in my purse to remind myself to buy one.
I went into my local Boots and I found these Oral B Precision clean brush heads in a four pack reduced from £17.99 to £11.99 which makes them just £3 each, and obviously you get your Boots points as well which can add up quickly. Although it does seem a lot to pay this amount for toothbrush heads you can pay this much for a decent manual toothbrush. I like these heads as they are circular and quite small so they can get right into the back of my mouth and the backs of my teeth easily.
They come in a plastic packet which is quite hard to open by hand and I had to use a pair of scissors to cut the top open. Inside there are four heads and four different colours hoops. To change the head you need to pull the old one off which is usually quite easy to do and then clip one of the coloured heads onto the new head which I find is best to do by placing the hoop onto a firm surface and then pushing the head down onto it. You hear a click when it is firmly secured and then you just push the new head onto the base.
I think that the four different coloured hoops are a great idea as they differentiate whose toothbrush is whose, which would be particularly helpful if you have a larger family and the toothbrushes can get mixed up, as you really wouldn't want to use anyone elses toothbrush. They have blue longer bristles around the outside and shorter white bristles in the middle so they can get into all parts of your teeth.
It is recommended that you change your toothbrush head every three months however I am guilty of often leaving mine longer as mine don't seem to get very flat or misshapen. The thing with an electric toothbrush is that you don't have to use too much pressure as the circular vibrating action is what really cleans your teeth, so I must be using mine correctly as they don't look much different even after a few months. I am pleased with this new heads and would buy them again, but would definitely shop round for the best price at that time.
I absolutely love my electronic toothbrush and would never go back to a manual toothbrush now. I think it works really well for my teeth, cleans them well and also makes them a bit whiter if I use it in conjunction with some whitening toothpaste. What I really like about my Oral B electronic toothbrush is that once you purchase it you do not need to buy another toothbrush like you would with a manual one, you can just replace the brush heads when they are getting a bit worn down.
What great about these brush refills is that they work with all Oral-B toothbrushes so you don't have to scan the panels to make sure you are getting the correct brush heads, however they are a bit different to the ones that are Pulsonic/Sonic so you do need to be careful is you have this type of brush.
It's well worth buying these refill packs that include 4 brush heads as they are a bit cheaper when bundled together. A pack of four brush heads cost £10.99 whereas the two pack is sometimes almost the same price or only a little cheaper so it's definitely worth buying more. You must remember where you put them once you buy them as I remember once I swore that I had bought a refill pack but couldn't find it anywhere so had to buy a new pack. Now I have a dedicated draw for them and always remember where I put them!!
These are really nice brush heads and work really well. They are round and have really well manufactured bristles. There are so many aspects to them that work well for your teeth. For example they have interdental brushes and a unique cupping shape designed to get to hard to reach areas. I find these really work well on the back teeth as the bristles on the outside are a little bit taller than the bristles in the middle which is how you get the varied heights and I find this works really well especially on your big back teeth as the brush heads almost cover the tooth and mould around it to give it a really nice clean.
The bristles are flexisoft and I find them really nice and kind to my teeth and gums, not too hard to make your gums bleed and not too soft to not really have any effect. The bristles are also indicator bristles meaning that by the time these brush heads have discoloured a little bit it tells you they have worn down and also the bristles have fanned out a little bit and are not as effective as they were to begin with.
When it's time to replace the brush heads they are really easy to remove and replace. Basically all you do is just hold the base unit and then pull out the brush head by turning anticlockwise and pull it out from the handle. There is a metal lever that keeps it in place inside the toothbrush. Then you just twist the other one on, make sure it is in place and you are good to go.
All in all a great convenient way to buy new brush heads.
~Precision tooth cleaning from Oral B!~
I can thoroughly recommend the Oral B Precision Clean 4 packs, which contain replacement brush heads for use with a number of electric toothbrush models that you can buy from the Oral B range. I have used the Oral B floss action brush heads, as well as the whitening brush heads and also these precision clean brush heads that come as a set of 4. I do feel that you need to shop around for the best price when buying these brush heads as they can very often be quite expensive at full price, however as there are often deals and reductions to be found, by buying carefully I manage to keep over all costs down.
As I have used all the available types of replacement brush heads from this brand (meaning those products that can be bought at the moment and are still on sale) I feel that each type of brush head has its own merits (IE: flossing action, whitening action, etc). For a nice fresh feeling clean feel to my teeth without any fuss or bother, I feel that the precision clean brush heads are a good choice, as I have often used this brush style fitted on to an Oral B electric toothbrush and found cleaning results to be good.
~Original brushes are the best!~
Whilst you can buy generic, cheaper, non branded replacement brush heads to fit the range of Oral B electric toothbrush bodies, I find that the overall quality of cheaper products is not very good. The cheaper brushes don't stay in place as they should very often and the cleaning effect they give is again often not as good as it would be with an original Oral B brush head. After having been unhappy with using a cheap replacement brush head in the past I have tended to stick to these branded brushes in recent times as I find they work far better, staying in place on the brush head fitment without slipping around when in use, making them much easier to work with. The precision clean brush heads don't ever seem come loose when in use and always seem to fit the toothbrush body really well in my opinion.
~Shop around for the best deal~
When buying replacement brush heads I try to look out for the packs that come with either an extra brush head (a 5 pack for the price of a 4 pack) or those packs that come with a freebie item attached, such as a tooth paste sample, which is always welcome. Prices do vary a lot from store to store and can be as low as £9.99, or as high as £16.99 per 4 pack. The packs are nicely sealed when new and this helps keep the brush heads clean and ready for use. I know I can leave spare / new brush heads in the packs for some time without them degrading at all. The cardboard part of the packs is sometimes protected by a slim plastic cover which I feel works well to ensure that the brush heads remain untouched prior to purchase.
~Brush quality/ ease of use~
I feel that all the materials used to make these brush heads are light to handle, yet are durable and easy to work with. The main part of these precision clean brush heads has a smooth outer finish that can be quickly rinsed with clean water after use, which is helpful as this makes the brush heads easy to keep fresh and clean. To fit a replacement precision clean brush head to an Oral B toothbrush body you simply click it in to place on the main body of your toothbrush and it stays firmly in place, ready for use. When removing the brush head for cleaning or to fit a fresh new one, you simply pull lightly on it to release it, which I find quick and easy to do. Over time the blue tint that you see on Oral B brush heads when new can, does and will fade down with repeated usage. This colour fading is meant to happen as it gives you a clear indication of when you need to change your brush head and I find it can be a helpful feature of the product.
The bottom of each brush head has a slightly ridged fitment that you can attach a simple slim coloured plastic ring to (these come with the brush heads). These coloured rings ( sea mint green/ or peppermint blue coloured instead of the white ones that come fitted to a new toothbrush) click in to place at the base of the brush head before it gets fitted to your toothbrush. This can make it easier to identify your own toothbrush in a household where there is more than one Oral B toothbrush user who has the same model of toothbrush, as many of the basic toothbrush bodies look identical without their different brush heads.
I find that a single precision clean brush head can last for around 3 months if it is cared for and cleaned well after every use. These brushes are very easy to rinse and keep clean so that they are hygienic and ready to use for 2 to 3 months at a time. Caring for the brush heads ( as well as keeping them germ free) ensures that just 1 pack of 4 brush heads could potentially last one person for a full year, or a family of 4 for 3 months of tooth cleaning. I find that the brush heads can cleaned every now and then by either micro-waving them in a bowl of clean hot water for 30 seconds, or by placing them in freshly boiled water that has been cooled slightly for a similar amount of time.
In use the precision clean brushes work well as they have slightly longer bristles around the outer edge of the brush head than some of the other brush heads in the Oral B range and this helps surround the tooth area when in use, giving a closer cleaning action. The longer bristle length, helps to clean the harder to reach areas of my teeth giving a better result than when using a standard manual type toothbrush. Flossing your teeth should still be part of your regime when using these brush heads though, as even though they are very efficient, they cannot reach every area of your teeth. I find that using these brush heads work well to give me fresh feeling, clean looking teeth that have a nice lightly polished look.
~Product rating/ price~
My rating for Oral B precision clean brush head refill packs is 4 stars as I feel they are well made, easy to use and produce good results for a number of moths, even with regular use. I feel that the brush heads can be expensive to buy at full price, although the cost per brush head can be as low as £2.50 if bought as a 4 pack for £9.99, or as much as £4.25 per brush head if bought for £16.99 per pack. Shopping around gives the best value for money in my opinion. I like the fresh clean polished effect the precision clean brush heads give, which is why I feel they are worthy of a 4 star product rating.
==Oral B Precision Clean Brush Heads==
I recently bought a pack of 8 of these Precision Clean heads from Boots as it seems I am always buying the two pack I decided getting a pack with 8 in would probably be much better value for money and I would most certainly not have to buy them so often.
The 8 pack is currently on an offer in Boots for £20.42 p which is saving £10.21 as they usually retail for £30.63 p when not on offer so this is quite a good saving. I find these brush heads usually pretty expensive to buy but getting this 8 pack at this price works out that per brush head paying £2.55 p which is really reasonable and about the same price as a non-electric toothbrush!
These precision clean heads are meant to be far better than the standard Oral B brush heads as they have on average a 29% increase in bristles on the head making for a better clean. Along wit the extra bristles the curved shape of the bristles on the head means that the brush will reach into those more difficult to reach areas and again give a better clean.
The brush heads are simple to place and the pack always comes with little plastic hoops with which to colour code the head of your choice which is I guess for if you were sharing one electric toothbrush you could then identify your own brush head. This is quite a clever idea but personally I have my own electric brush and himself has his own and one the head is on it doesn't come off until it needs replacing.
The brush heads themselves do look a lot better quality than the standard brush heads I buy from Oral B. You can certainly see the fact that these Precision heads have the more bristles and the longer bristles on the edge of the head which gives the curved shape which they claim gets into those difficult to reach places. The feel of the brush heads is not really noticeable when the electric toothbrush is in action in my mouth but maybe the bristles feeling denser does seem to give the whole head a more firmer feel than I am used to. Other than that using this brush head is just as easy and comfortable as any other head I have used.
The results of using this new improved brush do actually seem quite noticeable. Of course I always use a whitening toothpaste but after a few times of brushing my teeth with the precision head I did feel as though my teeth were a little bit brighter than they normally are and they did feel super smooth and extra clean. The brush head has been in action for a good while now and it seems as though the thicker bristles are giving it a better life too and it doesn't look as worn as quick as the old heads I used.
All in all I have to say that I am really glad I bought this 8 pack of Precision brush heads. They were the best price I have ever paid for Oral B heads and along with that the new design means that they do seem to clean better and thus give a better white shine look and feel. I can't find a single fault with them and hopefully the 8 pack will last us a good while too!
I think a tops core 5 out of 5 stars and a high recommendation is well deserved here!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
