Philips HX5350 Sonicare
Advantages: Gives a good clean!
Disadvantages: A bit expensive
I've never had much luck with teeth, because of this it has encouraged me to do what I can to help fix all my dental problems. I think it's important to have a tooth brush that actually cleans the whole part of your teeth rather than just the visible surface, so when I saw some of the Phillips electronic toothbrushes advertised on television, claiming to do exactly that, I thought it would be a good idea to have a look at their products.
In the end I decided to buy one of their electronic toothbrushes because all of their claims and technology seemed to be up to date. I purchased the Philips HX 5350 for around £25 on Amazon, which was a good price seeing as other sites were charging up to £50 for the same item! Even though it was a good price compared to other stores it was still a lot of money to fork out over a toothbrush and I was praying it would be as good as it had been advertised.
The toothbrush comes with two main bits, the brush itself and the rechargeable base which needs to be plugged in. This was my first issue with this product, I'd never considered the fact that I don't have ant plugs nearby my bathroom sink, so I have to find a less convenient place to charge the toothbrush before use. However this isn't a major problem due to the fact that it has a fairly long battery life, the battery lasts around 50-60 minutes brushing time, with the built in timer (2 minutes per brush) this works out to last up to 30 brushes which is 15 days; so I wasn't going to complain too much about having to charge it twice a month!
It was really and easy to get the hang of using this brush, there is only one button you need to press and the vibrations will turn on for 2 minutes whilst you brush. (There is a two minute timer because this is how long dentists recommend you brush your teeth for.) The brush itself isn't too big or too small, it just about covers one and a half of my teeth, because of this it ensure that all the teeth get a good clean individually rather than just scraping the surface like the larger handheld brushes do.
The Vibrations on the brush aren't too intense that it makes your mouth feel weird after using the brush, it's just a subtle buzzing feel on your tooth. I could definitely feel the difference between using this brush and a normal handheld one after cleaning, my teeth felt so much smoother and fresh and i also got a lot less out of my teeth whilst flossing afterwards, so this just goes to show how deep between the tooth this brush goes!
Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and the benefits of this product definitely justifies the price I paid! I would recommend this to anyone who would like their teeth to get a better clean!
