Advantages: UV Sanitizer. Different Brushing Modes. Excellent Cleaning. Great Build Quality.

Disadvantages: Expensive. Easy To Accidently Switch Off.

When is a toothbrush not just a toothbrush?

When it's a Philips Sonicare toothbrush. This really is a gadget for the 21st century and nothing less than a revolution in dental hygiene technology. It is a high-tech and advanced device that looks and feels as expensive as it is, and wouldn't look out of place in a science fiction series. Also provided is a UV (ultra violet) sanitizer which is able to sterilize both brush heads reasonable quick. Although this may seem like a gimmick, I recently read that the average toothbrush has been found to contain millions of bacteria so anyone seriously paranoid about dental hygiene can rest assured that the brush heads are definitely clean (as UV light is used by some water companies as a part of water treatment to destroy any water-borne pathogens.) The toothbrush offers three brushing modes at 31,000 brush strokes per minute. The item also comes with a smaller separate charger, which I thought was a really considerate idea, as it means that you've won't have to take the sanitizer with you while traveling and thus save luggage space. The Sonicare has a comfortable handle which is easy to hold, but because of the design it is easy to accidently switch it off while brushing (it took me three days to realise that's what I was doing.) I've used electric toothbrushes in the past so it didn't take me long to get used to the powerful sensation. But if you're not used to them, then you would be best to accustom your mouth to it by starting on the lower setting. Personally I would have liked a battery with a slightly longer life, as after changing over night the battery was nearly empty nine days later (but I guess it's easy enough to charge it back up and the charge indicator is actually very helpful plan when you need to do this.)

I've never had any serious issues with my teeth in the past as I've always took care of them, but after just a few uses of the Sonicare, my teeth felt cleaner and looked noticeable whiter. So don't let the noise, vibrations or even the (high) price put you off. All and all it's a perfect toothbrush and I would highly recommend it.

Welcome to Dooyoo. A good start here but some clearer details would be good - especially for future buyers.

The sanitiser sounds novel but then again toothbrushes can be sterilised in boiling water against using something like UV rays. Is this a separate hand held unit in itself or something that is attached onto the charger itself or perhaps part of the main toothbrush unit? This could be made clearer.

Rather than stating tech speak about the toothbrush moving at 31000 brush strokes per minute, how do the bristles actually feel on your teeth and gums? I used to own a Sonicare brush and often thought the bristles were rough. Can you get differences of brush textures in terms of replacements and how much are replacement heads generally? This is important details for future buyers.

Also does it only have two settings or more? Can you angle the brush sufficiently without feeling there's too much of the hand held part entering your mouth or are the brush heads suitably angled? How long does the toothbrush need charged for after first use? Lastly does this actual model cost?

If you update your review please message me.
