Advantages: Fantastic Cleaning

Disadvantages: A bit on the expensive side

I got my Sonicare brush just after Christmas after a dentist recommended it for a friend. Although it did seem a bit pricey, paying £59.99 for a toothbrush I didn’t mind so much as I finally got a chance to spend all those Boots Advantage points that I’ve been saving for the past few years.
The toothbrush has the following features
· 31,000 brush strokes per minute
· Naturally whiter, healthier teeth in 28 days
· Safe and gentle on gums
· Clinically proven to reverse gingivitis
· Dynamic fluid cleaning action
· 16 hour charge for up to 56 minutes use
· 2 minute Smartimer and easy start
· Includes 1 medium brushhead

It comes with a charger which can be plugged into a two point shaver socket which recharges the brush for around 60 minutes of use - which if you used twice daily for 2 minutes a time it would last 15 days before needing recharging again.
I’ve not used an electric toothbrush before so when you first start using it, it really takes some getting used too. Unlike other electric toothbrushes, the head doesn't rotate; it vibrates ultrasonically (hence the name sonicare). This tickles on certain parts of the gums, but there is a programme built into the toothbrush that increases the speed of the toothbrush over the first 12 uses (until it reaches optimum speed) to help you get used to this.
Because of the ultrasonic vibrations its always a good idea to put the toothbrush in your mouth after putting the toothpaste on and before turning it on unless you want your bathroom covered in specks of toothpaste! My mirror was completed covered for the first week.
You don't need to do the brushing action you would with a normal toothbrush, you just slowly move it all over your mouth ultrasonically causing the plaque to vibrate off of your teeth. The toothbrush is timed to brush for 2 minutes (the length of time recommended by dentists) and then turn off, and the newer models are set for 4 30 second sections so you can divide your mouth into four and make sure you clean each part for the recommended 30 secs.
Since using this toothbrush my gums have felt healthier and my teeth look cleaner and whiter, and there is no way I will go back to a normal toothbrush again
If you do buy one, you need to figure in the cost of replacement brushes which are generally about £15 each. Handily enough they come colour coded so if you want to share it with someone you can have an easily identifiable brush each.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone wanting to improve the condition of his or her teeth and gums.

Summary: A must have for healthy white teeth

Sounds better than the one I use because changing the head on mine is a nightmare. Thanks. Sue
