Advantages: A truly thorough cleaning

Disadvantages: Pricey brushes that wear quickly

My teeth were getting a bit gross - I smoke, drink and love my coffee so I'm surprised I even have teeth left but this brush is a life saver! At first its hard to get use to the power, even when I change the brushes I still get taken back by how vigorous it is but the sonic brushes don't hurt your gums or do any damage they just eliminate plaque like a jackhammer. I've used other mechanical brushes and just didn't see enough difference to make it worth charging it every 5 seconds. This brush does a really thorough job and really makes you realise how dirty your teeth get just from one day of eating/coffee or compared to 20 years of brushing by hand.

I started brushing with this before I had 2 fillings and an extraction that cost more than this brush but after 12 months of using it I got a clean bill from the dentist, after years of atleast one filling a year Im extremely chuffed with the brush.

The battery life of the brush is very impressive, it latest 2 weeks on the first charge and I went through a phase of just putting it back on charge twice a day (since its best on full charge) and it still lasts a good week after 12 months. You can buy replacement batteries from ebay, I've seen some complaints that phillips themselves wont set you up with a replacement.

The brushes can be pricey, this isn't a budget toothbrush. The brushes are suppose to last 6 months and cost about £8 each (in 2 packs) but they go after as little as 2 months. The price never seems to drop on the brushes and they're just as expensive as when I bought it nearly 12 months ago.

For piece of mind and a thorough clean I highly recommend this.

Summary: For piece of mind this is your brush

Good compact review here - although it would be good to know how much it was initially at cost, noise, holding it (slips out, wet protected? etc)
