Advantages: a fun encouraging addition to the bathroom

Disadvantages: none worth mentioning

I have 2 boys and bought them both electric toothbrushes quite recently as I thought that it woud encourage them to brush more often and also because my husband always uses an electric toothbrush and swears that they are better for cleaning and gum protection. I disagreed as I have never had any problems with my teeth and so did a bit of digging...

According to the Acacedmy of General Dentistry, the best toothbrush to buy is one that you will actually use regardless if it is electric or manual and so a toothbrush that encourages my boys to brush was on my shopping list and seeing as they love all things electrical, an electric brush it was.

The eldest boy would not have appreciated a Jungle Book brush so I opted for a plain one for him but for my youngest who was 5 at the time, I spotted this in Home Bargains for just £2.99 (rrp £7.99) so at that price I couldnt resist. (Loving all things Disney myself!)

The brush is blue and lime green with a cute picture of baloo the bear on the front and the idea is that the musical brush talks to you and plays songs, with the concept that the better (more effective) you brush, then the louder the music will play. The brush also greets you and asks if you are ready and then congratulates you at the end saying 'Great Job!'

The head is made from soft rounded bristles that are kind to both teeth and gums but unfortunetly it is irreplaceable however the AA batteries that the brush comes with are and can be inserted at the base of the brush but this is a little fiddly as you would need one of them tiny screwdrivers. I would suggest that its not worth replacing the batteries anyway as the bristles do tend to get a bit bent after all that vigerous brushing!!

It is absolutely great and cheers the nowty so and so's up in the morning when they are getting ready for school without much enthusiasm at all. You cant help but smile when the songs are playing, I love it and wished I would have bought more in for Christmas stocking fillers.
