Advantages: Gives a decent clean
Disadvantages: Very big
I bought this toothbrush coming up to a year ago now: I was previously using an oral B sonic brush which I got on okay with, but felt it was time to upgrade, and this one seemed a winner.
The first thing that struck me was the size of the thing - you can only gauge so much about the dimensions just from a picture on a website. It's some 2/3 inches longer than the Oral B brush that I had, which might not sound a lot, but it was bigger than I was expecting (although given the size of the box it arrived in, I should probably be thankful that it wasn't a foot long..!).
Despite its length, the brush isn't particularly heavy or cumbersome at all, and fits nicely with the contour of my closed hand (although I find I end up holding the brush nearer to the head than you're supposed to, just because I've never got used to brushing with such a long brush!). All the functions are selectable by using one single, easy-to-use button in the middle of the handle, and choosing the appropriate option is easyily done - pressing it once for normal mode, twice for 'sensitive teeth mode' (a slightly reduced vibration speed), and three times to switch the vibration completely off.
On all of the modes it works with a pacer function, with a short pause in the vibration (or a quick split-second vibration when on non-vibrate mode) to remind you to to brush a different part of the mouth. If this fits in with how you brush, then it's great, but I find 30 seconds far too long to be spending brushing the tops of my teeth and not long enough to spend on the fronts, and when I have tried going by it I forget how many times it's changed (and therefore how long it has been going), and end up thoroughly confused - so I tend to ignore it nowadays. After three minutes it stops dead, seeing as that's surely long enough to satisfy anyone's worth of brushing - although you can always switch it on again for a cheeky few seconds to cover any bits of your mouth that you feel you've not fully explored.
The charge tends to last a few days before it drops in power significantly rapidly and then dies - the instructions recommend storing it in its charger when not in use, but that's not really very practical for me.
In normal mode, the brush works very well and seems to give my teeth a decent clean - perhaps not significantly better than my Oral B did, but still it's a good brush. I question whether you'd want to buy this brush to only use sensitive or vibrationless mode, as I can imagine the same quality clean can be achieved by a much cheaper brush.
Summary: A good brush, but not as great as I hoped
