I have flossed my teeth for many years now but I've always used the string-type floss. It wasn't until recently that I came across this easy floss by Wisdom online and it looked a lot easier to use - avoiding the problem of getting floss stuck between your teeth. As it was only £1.99 on Amazon I bought some to try out.
Wisdom describes their Easy Floss Daily Flosser (a bit of a mouthful!) as "the easy and simple way to floss between your teeth, making flossing quick and easy". It basically consists of a removable disposable floss head (you get 15 supplied in a single packet) from which a string of floss is suspended between plastic edges which is attached to a long handle with rubber in the centre for gripping. The floss head also doubles as a toothpick. According to Wisdom, normal toothbrushes only clean three of the five tooth surfaces and so flossing is needed to clean the area between the teeth and gum line.
The flosser comes in a good variety of colours including green, blue and purple. I chose the purple one as I thought it was prettier. The small and compact size means it can be easily stored or packed for travelling and as it is so lightweight you can hold it for long periods at a time without it becoming uncomfortable. The length of the handle makes it easy to grip but most importantly allows a good degree of flexibility to reach parts of the mouth - especially the back teeth - that you can't with regular floss. It's really easy to use by just sliding the floss between the teeth to the gum and just dislodging any debris or plaque build-up. The handle means you can slide it all the way down with no trouble at all. I've found the floss feels much softer than the string-type variety and it only caused a tiny amount of bleeding when I first used it.
I floss once a day straight after brushing my teeth and just before I go to bed. Since using the easy flosser my teeth definitely feel nice and clean and you get a nice fresh feeling just after flossing. I haven't had any trouble with my teeth so it must be doing its job! I replace the floss head every 2-3 days to keep it clean but if you really want to stay on top of things there's no harm in replacing it everyday. Refills are very cheap and can be found in most supermarkets or online from Amazon or eBay.
One of the strangests gifts my mate has ever bought me has to be one of these Wisdom Easy Flossers. Whilst she was out in Asda doing her late night shopping one evening she bought me one of these at the same time as treating herself to one as at the time they were on offer at 50p than usually the pound mark.
Now I do take my teeth and gum hygeine very seriously. I have problems with with thinning enamel on my teeth due to an eating disorder and so I can't scrub my teeth as much as I would like to and I do have small gaps within my teeth that food and debris does get stuck within so actually I was rather pleased to recieve this once I got over the initial shock of it lol.
The flosser with 15 disposable heads comes on a blue coloured cardboard backing to which the front and the back of that contains information you may need and then the flosser is encased over the top of that by a see through cover. On the front of the packaging we are told that it is Wisdom 'Easy Floss', Daily Flosser and that it is recomended by dentists, has disosable floss heads and a long handle for easy access to back teeth as well as being shown diagramns of how it works. On the back of the packaging we are told a little about the product and told and shown how to use it (via diagramns once again) and contact details for Wisdom are given. Nice, informative packaging this is though the first thing I noticed through the packaging was that the flossers don't come in any kind of case though are secured in bands cos I was worried about mislaying them.
The Flosser itself:
Very long indeed and they come in a variety of colours, my mates is blue and white mine is purple and white and its slim with a section of grip just over half way up the handle, both front and back and large lettering to the base of one side of it telling us that it is a Wisdom product. The plastic white flossers easily pull on and off the top of the floss handle and should be replaced after every use.
The piece of white floss that is about a length long an attached to the casing it comes in, is lose and has a very slight minty taste to it and of couse you can use this pre brushing or after brushing and the thin strip easily gets into small crooks and crannies, lifting out plaque, debris and general grime.
I find this floss to not cut my gums or anything diverse like that, the heads are simple to replace and once done with the 15 floss heads you simply go out and but the system once again (if you are impressed by it of course lol!), which is not a problem at about a pound a time anyway.
Yes I like mine. Its a nice simple style, I can reach the back of my teeth and all in all if you want an easy to use flosser this could certainly be a good option for you.
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc.

The Wisdom Easy Floss Daily Flosser is a product I have used ever since a bad visit to the dentist. Dentists are notoriously expensive, and as I pay for private treatment I am constantly keeping an eye on my teeth. Flossing allows you to clean between your teeth in the areas a toothbrush will never be able to reach. The long handle of the Wisdom Easy Floss enables the user to reach all areas of the mouth, including the awkward back teeth. Using dental floss on a roll is another option, but the Easy Floss has the advantage of being able to reach these hard areas that floss is difficult to use on. The pack comes with 15 disposable heads, which simply click into place on the Daily Flosser handle. The handle itself is very easy to use and allows the user to control the flossing easily due to the comfort grip on the handle. The grip is rubber which means the flosser won't slip from your grasp when wet. The disposable heads also double up as a tooth pick. The end of the head which slots into the handle has a toothpick on it which is perfect for use either before or after using the head before disposal. Due to their disposable nature they are very hygenic. The packs are available in a wide range of vibrant colours and so can be fun to use for kids and adults alike.
Since starting using the Wisdom Easy Floss I have had much less trouble with my teeth. I did occassionally get the odd cavity which required a filling, and I noticed a build up of plaque between particular teeth. I no longer have this problem, and flossing with this flosser in the bathroom mirror also means you will pay a lot more attention to your teeth. I think that by spending time to floss between your teeth you will be able to keep on top of your dental health. using traditional floss doesn't have the same effect, as you can't see where you are flossing as well and I think the Easy Floss is a great product for those who havn't flossed in the past. The floss itself on the heads is robust enough to last a number of uses. My dentist did advise to use the disposable head until the floss breaks, but I do replace them a little more often as I have found that without replacement the floss will last a week or so! Costing under £2 from your local pharmacist or supermarket I think this is great value to protect your dental health.
I have never been the one to flossing even though I know it is good for my oral hygiene. I have used the floss in the past that looks like string with bad results, I could never get used to it. The string always used to get caught between my teeth and get stuck so I couldn't get out without yanking, which can't be good for ones teeth, it would get knotted and all sorts. Really put me off flossing so I never did it after that also because this type of floss is always in your bathroom cupboard I forgot to floss. I also find flossing with string to be rather time consuming.
That was until my dentist recommend a new floss design called Humming Bird, he also said there were other cheaper flosses on the market just like the Humming Bird for a lot less that does the job just as well and he said I would find it a lot easier and could carry on with flossing with my daily routine and it is never too late to start flossing.
On a trip to Asda with what the dentist said to me firmly in my mind I went on the hunt for something similar to the Humming Bird and that was when I came across Wisdom Easy Floss Daily Flosser for a brilliant price of £1.99, which comes with 15 disposable floss heads.
Easy Floss is very simple in design it is a thin hard plastic with a long handle that measures 7 inches in height (not including the floss head) and the widest part of the width measures half an inch. The floss itself comes in three different colours including purple, green and blue. The bottom of the handle sees Wisdom written in white and in the middle on both sides you can see a white rubber grip for easy handling.
The floss head itself is a white hard plastic. There is a long pointy part that clicks into the handle, which measures 2 inches. The long pointy part is also used as a tooth pick. The thin cotton string is attached to either side of the plastic handle and is very secure. The floss part is small and measures 1 inch but is enough to give you a deep clean between your teeth.
Wisdom Flosser is strong so no worries when traveling and because it is so compact you can put it anywhere.
The benefits of flossing are simple, everyday food and drink stains your teeth, which in turn plaque and tartar can adhere to, regular use of dental floss helps to removes plaque between your teeth, which is left long enough turns into tartar and that leads to tooth decay.
Flossing once a day can make teeth look brighter by removing excess food particles that your tooth brush can't reach.
I always thought you had to floss twice a day to see any benefit, but my dentist said flossing once a day at night before bed is adequate enough for a healthy oral hygiene.
Using this flosser is easy, simply brush your teeth the way you usually would. Take your flosser by the handle and start from the back of your teeth, it doesn't matter if you start from the top or bottom sets. Gently guide the floss between your teeth going down to your gums, and gently move the flosser in an upwards and downwards motion. If your gums start to bleed, I was told by my dentist this is because you need to brush more around that area, the same is when you're brushing your teeth and your gums bleed.
When you're satisfied you've flossed one part adequately then you can move onto the others in the same manner.
I found using this product very easy to use and one that I have kept doing since the day I bought it. The long handle means you can get to hard to reach areas with ease and because it is lightweight it is very easy to control unlike the electric flossers you can also get today, which are heavy and not good for sensitive gums.
Wisdom recommends you discard the floss head after every use, which is a good idea, after all you don't keep the same piece of string to floss your teeth with do you?
Refill packs are also cheap from Asda but the last time I went in I found it worked out cheaper to repurchase the whole thing, you can also find them on eBay for next to nothing.
I would also recommend Wisdom Easy Floss for children over 4 years old with parental supervision due to the ease of use. You shouldn't start flossing their teeth below this age due to their gums being too soft and sensitive. If they feel it was a bad experience they are less likely to do it in the future. Children can start to floss by themselves when they reach 8 years old.
It is also a good product to use if you are elderly and find floss string too much of a hassle.
The downsides I have is there is no minty flavour when you start flossing, and if there is it is very faint and the tooth pick is useless, it bends and is too thick to do anything with, other than that it is a great flosser from Wisdom.
