Pyramat S2500 Wireless Gaming Chair
by TheRostifer
Sleek. Stylish. Comforting. Just three of many words I could say about this amazing chair. I have had this chair 6 months now, and there isn't anything I don't use it for. Whether its music from my mobile or games on the Xbox, movies on the laptop or making use of its built in radio. This chair literally functions as the most comfortable ... and immersing experience for anything that can play some sort of melody. Many a time I have just left this chair to play away to itself as I become immersed within the music and drift slowly asleep in it. It is just so comfortable, I could easily substitute this for a bed.
Also the control you have over the chair is so simple, yet effective. With three different dials, one for volume, one for bass (I love this) and another to change the input down by your side its so simple to make tiny adjustments to the chair to get that extra quality and performance you need out of it. The Radio function has 8 channels to choose from and each channel is cycled through individually by pressing the "channel" button, lighting up an LED light for each channel you choose, so you can easily see what channel your on. My favorite function on this chair is the headphone jack on the other side, allowing you to attach a mobile phone or MP3 player and then fasten it securely in place with some elasticated fabric. This makes the chair very versatile and means you can play just about everything through it, although if you don't want to attach your device to the chair you would have to get a headphone extension as the cord is very short.
Another good feature about this chair missing from many other more unnecessarily expensive chairs is you can rock backwards and forwards to your hearts content. This seems like such a simple function but you can balance this chair so effortlessly to whichever angle you wish, whether your lounging back to immerse yourself in the music as you have speakers placed cleverly either side of your head, the bass speaker coursing through every bone in your body through the spine of your back, or if your leaning forward during a nail-biting battle to the end on call of duty, as you feel each bullet recoil and shake your very core.
The chair looks simply amazing. My particular model is grey with orange highlighting, and blue LED's lighting up the speakers on top to give it an amazing look at night. It can easily be folded away for storage which is very useful if you don't have much room. At a bargain price compared to other gaming chairs this is a must buy, I have never had any problems with it and it is very well built, definitely made with gamers in mind. This gets my full recommendation and I would more than advise you to buy this chair, as you will never need another sound system, chair or bed ever again. Read the complete review |

Turtle Beach Ear Force P11 Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset (PS3)
by DanB7290
I bought these primarily for the voice chat function of my PS3. Normally I used a Bluetooth headset, which to quote one of my mates, sounded like I had "found it in a cereal packet". I'd heard about the benefits of having a proper gaming headset, and with not too much cash to spend, forked out on these, and I'm very glad I ... did.
First off, the voice chat quality is much improved, my teammates can now hear me properly. The mic is on a sort of bendy metal thing attached to the left side, and is easily pushed up and out of the way if you don't need it. The headset must be plugged into a USB port for the mic to work, luckily you get a very long cable with this headset.
Next up, the sound quality. My god, I've not heard anything this side of audiophile grade headphones which sounds as good. The main thing you need to understand here, is that without the rather pricey DSS processing unit attached, this does not give full 7.1 surround sound, it merely amplifies what you'd hear from the TV. That said, there is some degree of surround sound, although it could be much improved, for instance on Battlefield 3, I could hear roughly which direction a helicopter was hovering above my head. However, it got to a point where one ear would have no sound and the other would have sound, but move back a few millimetres and it is reversed; therefore it isn't what I would call true surround sound (I'd expect one side to fade more and more but not come to an abrupt stop like this). But at this price point, it's not a deal breaker. Other than that it is great, you hear footsteps of nearby soldiers much more clearly, also despite the issue with the 'surround sound' not being 100%, you can sort of gauge how far away explosions are from the player, you hear bullets flying around you, and so on.
I have tried these with my MacBook Pro for music and FaceTime calls, and again it shines here. Sound quality beats pretty much all headphones I've ever tried, and again voice quality is pretty unbeatable.
Build quality however, is something that could be improved on. While not completely terrible, the plastic feels a lot cheaper than the £35 RRP would suggest. Also, the cups themselves don't feel attached to the headband quite as securely as I would have liked, however it has been 8 months now, and mine are still in one piece.
In short, if you're into FPS games and want to up the ante a bit with sound quality, get these rather than do what my mate did and waste nearly double the price and countless hours hooking it up to your home speaker system. I plan to keep on using mine till they die, and depending on my wallet size, they'll either be replaced with the same again, or the wireless model, which I would imagine are a bit more useful when you sit further away from the TV. Nintendo Wii Motion Plus Accessory
by Puggers
The Wii control system was a revelation when it came out, but once the novelty passed, the limitations of the motion-detection setup were exposed somewhat; there were games and moments when the control wasn't quite sophisticated and subtle enough - and this is the gap that the Motion Plus attachment plugs.
Nintendo have done ... this before - releasing an expansion pack to beef up the N64's capabilities - and this is much the same principle. The motion plus add-on itself is a pretty small, inconsequential-looking thing, but it does make a difference. For games which require real fine control, it's a godsend. The attachment converts the standard Wii remote into something capable of replicating fine movements, from delicate taps with a golf club to putting spin on table tennis shots.
Attaching the device is easy - there's a slot at the base of the controller into which the Motion Plus plugs, snapping in without difficulty. This means your existing jacket doesn't fit any more, but there's another one available that fits the larger size of the remote.
For a tenner or so, this represents pretty good value. It makes the whole Wii experience more immersive and enjoyable, and sidesteps some of those little difficulties and limitations, making the Wii the console it should be. Read the complete review |
