Datel have been making Action Replay cheat cartirdge on all the different consoles for years. I've had them for the Game Gear & the Game Boy advance so was eager to give my Nintendo DS games a good going over.

The way it works is by first putting in the cheat cartridge. After this you turn on the DS that then tells you this is a product not licensed by Nintendo. Then the Action Replay screen appears telling you to insert the game cartridge. You then remove the Action Replay & put in the game card. The Games details will then display & you can select from all the different cheats available for the game you are playing. These can vary from Infintite Health on a war game, to infinite power ups on say Mario Cart or cheats for Pokemon that include all pokemon appear at level 100 & making certain Pokemon appear in the grass (even the legendary ones).

On top of this you can connect the card to the internet through your pc or laptop & search all the games available. This means that when a new game comes out which you haven't got codes for, you can add them easily. This is a little tricky but I don't think it's beyond most people.

There are a couple of downsides but not many. One is that cheats tend not to work in online play. Try playing Mario Kart online with a cheat for infinite red shells & the power up will dissapear online. Obtain a cheat Pokemon & you won't be able to trade it online. The other is that you can't create your own cheats. This was possible with the Game Gear system. It took a while but you could create you own personal cheats. This would have been useful.

This really is a great piece of kit. Got a game you can't win at? You will with this. I would definitely recommend it to all DS owners. Especially Pokemon Players who are trying to "catch 'em all" as to be fair, it's nigh impossible without one of these.
