The R4 Cartridge Revolution for ds is a device that you can use to run different applications on your DS.. Such as watching Movies and listening to music which the quality on both can be very good.

The movie format is the same as you would use on an I-pod MP4 and music are MP3's

Another useful feature is that it allows amateur developers to create shareware software for the ds the most intriguing one I have found is one that actually makes you DS function as a telephone!

There has been some debate to weather this device should be legal or nor due to the fact it enables you to run ROMS basically full versions of ds games on the device. If you know the correct websites to go to download these ROMs you will be able to fit maybe up 25-30 games for free on 2g micro sd.

The way the R4 ds works is that it comes with a card exactly like a normal ds card except it has a slot in it which fits a micro sd card, its this micro card that contains all the data and to get the firmware and whatever software you need onto it, the r4 also comes with a Micro sd reader which pops right into a USB slot and is recognized straight away by your PC.

In theory you could listen to limitless music or watch countless films on your ds dependant the size of the Micro SD card you chose. I have opted for the 2 gig version to start with as this only cost me about 10.00. The actual R4 card which comes complete with the micro SD card reader is around about the 20.00 mark.
