What is the R4 card?
The R4 card is a money saver if your normally go out and spend some cash on DS games. The r4 card basically lets you download DS games online which you can transfer to a SD card, the SD card slides into the R4 and Tahdah you have a game, simple as that. Its really easy and simple to do, even my 6 year old sister can do it. It also lets you use your DS as a Movie player and MP3 Player


Personal Experience with R4

I got the R4 card when all my friends started to play the DS, they talked about Mario DS the most, but i didnt have enough money to buy it. This is when i discovered the R4 card, its only about 30-50pounds but a Huge money saver. So i ordered the R4 card online and never again was i left out when my friends chatted about DS games.


Some Tips and Tricks

With the R4 i constantly find useful tools and hidden things i didnt know about.
Here are some things i found out about R4:

- Changing the Theme
- Using DS for MP3/Movie/Pictures
- Hold all buttons to Exit to Main Menu
- Cheats
- Making New folders
- How to get on MSN with DS
- .Sav Files

Changing themes for the DS is pretty easy. All you have to do is Download it online transfer it to your DS and when you on the Main Screen press SELECT and it should change.


To Use your DS as a MP3 transfer a MP3 track onto the DS and on the Mainmenu choose the Middle option ( should look like a Media Button ). After you chose this lots of computer stuff writing zooms up the page, Dont worry your DS is not haveing a breakdown! Browsee for the MP3 file and play it! simple!
Hint: ../ Means to go back a folder. To be able to play movies and clips you need to download a program which will be able to change your .avi .mp4 ect ... to a .dpg same as a MP3 transfer, middle button, browse and play.
Viewing a Picture is slightly different, download a photo picture and put it on the DS, now chose the First option ( left ) in main menu, it should look like a Game button. Now find your Picture and you should be able to Zoom into it by pressing the touchpad, and skip to next picture by pressing R (i often use this when im on the train for reading Manga).


Holding Buttons to Escape from game- when you go into the Left button in the Main Menu in the top right of the Touchpad you should be able to see a Green R button. If the button is red it means the option is disabled. With this button holding you can exit a game without having to turn your DS on and off which does get pretty annoying. When your in the Left Menu Button you can press R to switch this option on and off -
- Red = Off
- Green = On
While in a Game - Hold X-Y-B-A-L-R buttons this should freeze the game and you should find yourself in the main menu.


I was pretty annoyed at this Cheat option. If only i found out earlier i would of killed Bosses in games easier, but then whats the Fun with Cheats. I only reccommend this option if you are Really stuck in a game or completed the game and want to mess around. When you about to select a game if there is a option on the touchpad which say "Cheat(Y)" press Y and enable some pretty cool cheats, how about Mario Kart with Foreverlasting golden mushroom and infinite Star ? you can finish laps within 15seconds. its really fun.


Making folders - on the Memory SD card plug it into the USB port in your computer and make some folders to organise your MP3s .NDS games, this is a Must do because it helps to organise your files so they dont get into a muddle. When in a Folder you can exit that folder by pressing " ../ ".


Entering MSN with DS - Search and Download from the internet "beup live 0.3" like with any other game go into it, enter your Wifi connection details. Sign in with your hotmail and your done!
you can type with the Stylus and chat to your friends.


.sav files are basically , yes you've guessed it the save file for your game. You can Give your .sav file to your freinds and family to help them out. Sometimes your DS can break and you might lose the data on the game, but if you have a copy of your .sav file you can just delete the old broken one and replace it with the other .sav.


Overall

The R4 card is a Must buy for the DS, i cant imagine a NDS user without a R4 card! it can save room in your house and way more access to your DS, i give the R4 card a rating of -10/10. Brilliant!!
