There comes a time where you have had enough time gaming by yourself, so it is time to take your skills online against the rest of the world; against all the other gamers out there. Xbox Live is very competitive in this respect, but has a great friendly community too. However some games such as Halo 3 have hit the news for its ruthless racist and offensive players that get angry over a game. I have played with many people like this, but I don't really care myself. It is a warning to younger players though, because these players are racist, rude and offensive by constantly swearing. Thankfully with the Xbox 360, you have the option of parental controls. Back in 1999 Sega took the step of implementing online gaming into the Sega Dreamcast system. This was at the time when most people were accessing the internet over dial up. Due to the limitations of technology and the inclusion of a built in modem, this added excessive costs to the system with only a few games to take advantage of such as Chu Chu Rocket, yet even such a game of its simple nature suffered from excessive lag over dial up. Within recent years, with the increasing availability and lowering prices of high speed broadband internet, Microsoft stepped in with the introduction of the XBOX Live service. This was perhaps the first time online gaming had ... Read the complete review

For those unfamiliar with the online gaming experience this product enables you to get online and play any other people playing the same game as you. Any xbox game which displays the xbox live compatible sign (either on the "capability table" or a sticker on the front) can be played online with the addition of this starter kit, the essential part being the xbox live code which comes on the scratchcard. Don't think that by buying this kit you will definately have the ability to play though. Firstly, your house must have a router - a device that allows multiple connections to the internet in your own house network. Without one of these, getting ... Read the complete review

Xbox Live is an online gaming service for the Xbox and Xbox 360, however I will be reviewing the latest version for the Xbox 360. Xbox Live enables you to play online, using an Internet connection with other players around the world. Not only can you play against others, but also your love for gaming is at your hands with downloadable demos, videos, gamer pictures, themes and more! The Xbox Live Marketplace is the home of Xbox Live and has progressed over the months to offer more and more. Currently, you can download game demos to try out upcoming releases. You can also download gamer pictures for your profile along with themes, which may revolve around a ... Read the complete review

Rating:
Xbox Live has to be the best online service for any games console out there. It has been going for ages, and has the best reputation for being fun and simple. It is twenty times better than Playstation online and Wii online put together! With Xbox Live, you can play against other players around the world who have their own Xbox Live account. You start by choosing a Gamertag (like a username) before you can customize your profile a bit. You can buy a 12 month Gold Subscription for £34.98 from amazon.co.uk. I do not think this price will change, but it is well-worth it for the fun you will get out of Xbox Live including all the extra options ... Read the complete review
