Advantages: Cheap! (£3.40 a month), great service, great community

XBOX LIVE, is your portal to the online gaming world through your XBOX 360.

You pay £40 a year for a gold account which gives you an online persona called a 'gamertag', a friends list, access to download 'arcade' games (which are cheaper games made by developers) and access to the multiplayer aspect of hundreds of XBOX 360 games.

Many people compare the price to the Playstation online system (called the PSN) because the PSN is free. But what you are paying for is constant updates for all games and the service itself, a great community, freebies, an astounding list of features amongst other things and when you think of it as being £3.40 a month, that is a nominal price to pay for such a great service.

So, if you currently don't have XBOX LIVE, but have access to broadband, I strongly suggest you get it now and enjoy ally our games in glorious multiplayer - which I assure you, will hold the best gaming moments of your life.
