Advantages: Your remote wont slip out of hand

Disadvantages: have to keep taking it off if you use a steering wheel.

I don't know how many times I have gasped at people on Youtube throwing their Wii remote at the TV while they are playing a game. I would be absolutely gutted if I smashed our beloved flat screen but fortunately I shouldn't have this problem. Nintendo have come up with a solution and if you bought your Wii a while a go then you can go to there website where you can pick yours up for free.

The Wii remote jacket is basically a silicone outer that fits snugly over the remote. It gives your hand a much better grip on the remote while you play games and stops the silly accidents that have happened in the past.

The jacket looks flexible but I did wonder how easily it would fit onto the remote. I can safely say that I found it very easy. You do have to push and pull it a bit but it bends easily whilst still remaining intact. I have been a little rough with the clear silicone for the purposes of this review and it hasn't ripped or be damaged in any way.

The great thing about this cover is that all of the buttons are still in clear view and it doesn't affect the way you have to use the remote in any way. The jacket is made so there are bit holes cut out of it in the exact places where the buttons are. Even the 'B' button has its own little hole.

I have found that since using this jacket on my remote I have been able to get into my games much more because I haven't got the worry of throwing it in the back of my mind. Even when you hands are damp from sweat it stays safely in my hand and on games like tennis where you are throwing your arms around like a loony, there is no chance of it slipping.

The only problem with the jacket is that I have to take it off when I want to play Mario Kart because I fit the remote into a steering wheel and it's a very snug fit.

Over all Nintendo have come up with a great solution to a potentially expensive problem. All you have to do is remember to put it on each time you play.

Summary: Agreat idea.
