Advantages: Free, potentially prevent damage to your TV
Disadvantages: Makes the wii controller look bad and uncomfortable
The Nintendo Wii remote jacket is an accessory for protecting your Wii controllers.
Due to the surprisingly high amount of Wii remotes flying through expensive LCD TV screens Nintendo will now supply these Wii remote jackets to you free of charge!
I had to wait around 4 months for mine to arrive after ordering from Nintendo but I can't really complain too much as they are free after all.
The Wii remote jacket itself is made from a semi translucent plastic jelly material, it's not the most elegant looking thing you will ever see. It is textured all the way around for extra grip and is extra thick at the top where you may hit your telly with some over enthusiastic Wii Sports! On the back there is a Wii logo just to let remind you what you use it with.
Your Wii remote itself will fit neatly into the jacket and it is a good fit, the only problem I find is it makes the sleek and comfortable Wii remote horrible to hold. The ergonomics of this thing is terrible, when I use the Wii remote I have to take it off it is just that uncomfortable!
It is free but it really isn't that good, it makes the controllers look bad and uncomfortable to hold. The only upside is they were free. Give them to your kids if you are scared your telly is going to break but otherwise keep them off!
Summary: A bit dissapointing Nintendo!

- 08/08/09 My Wii remotes both came with these jackets on, and so now it feels really weird for me to play without them. I don't understand how so many people managed to fling remotes through TVs and stuff, as the controller itself has a wrist strap which should stop that from happening. |
