The wii remote jacket is a silicone sleeve which wraps around the wii remote making it more secure and easier to grip for users.

As of October 1st 2007, nintendo offered to provide wii remote jackets to all owners who bought the console before they became a standard part of the wii console package.

The jacket iteself is very flexible, as it is made of silicone, making it simple for the user to slip it on and off whenever necessary. It makes the wii remote more secure and holdable for the user as it slightly cushions the remote and it is easier to grip.

The wii remote jacket protects the remote by providing a thick silicone outer layer, this minimises any damage from knocks or falls whilst playing on the wii.

At the bottom of the grip there is a small flap which fits into the nunchuk socket, allowing users to use the grip whilst using other wii remote accessories. The top of the grip also has a small hole allowing the infra red signal to still reach the sensor bar.

Overall, the wii remote jacket is a good safety addition to the wii, allowing users to play safely without the worry of damaging the wii remote if any knock or fall should occur. The only downfall to this I find is that when using the wii remote docking station, the grip has to be removed to allow the batteries to recharge.

Summary: An excellent addition to the wii console package.
