Advantages: Great erganomic design, and Nunchuk capabilities.

Disadvantages: Large size can be uncomfortable in long periods of play.

For any fan of the Wii's current catalogue of rail shooters such as: House of The Dead 2 & 3; Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles; Ghost Squad; House of The Dead:Overkill, then a good light gun peripheral is necessary to relive the arcade feel given by the original games. The WiiZapper does simply not cut the mustard in this respect, so Nyko have made their version: The Perfect Shot.

For starters the gun looks more realistic than the zapper, and is much more comfortable in the hand, small things like the grip being rounded make this product feel very comfortable for long periods of play.

When unpacking the gun it seemed a little heavy, however after using the gun I can see the reasons behind it, all the weight is in the back half of the gun and is ideally counterbalanced when the wiimote is in position, making for more precise "perfect shots" being made.

The setup is very simple, simply slide in the Wiimote (wrist strap and skins must be taken off first) into the top of the gun and secure it in place with the orange clip, and when I say secure, I mean secure. Not once has my wiimote shifted during play. To use your nunchuk there is a port at the bottom of the frip whic it plugs into and, as the perfect shot only requires one hand, can be used freely with your non shooting arm, making more games available to play with the gun.

The trigger feels responsive and springy, allowing for rapid fire shots and precise shots where necessary, vital in games like Resident Evil.

Visually, the gun looks the part and feels substantial in your hand, which is a good thing, trust me.

One minore drawback is that if you have very very small hands you may not be able to reach the trigger comfortably, as the grip is larger than most, but this is only in rare cases such as my 8 year old cousin.

Overall: The best gun peripheral available for the Wii, worth £10 of any shooter lover's money.

Summary: A near perfect accessory for the Wii, and at a budget price.
