      I got this remote actually with the wii when I bought it, but you can buy them seperately and I got a couple off Ebay for around £11, they do come in different colours also as I got mine in pink and also a blue one too.

      The remote I got is entirely white in colour, and it does come with a grey strap, which I would recommend to use to keep the remote safe in your hands.

      The front of the remote
      ===================

      The front of the remote is the most important part where all the buttons are, to start you have the power button, this is what you use to turn the wii on without having to move over to the box.

      Then you have the directional keypad, you really only use this in certain games, as the sensor part takes you to most things you need.

      The A button is used for most games, but it does do different things on each of the games, so you would need to read the individual games manual to find out what it works as.

      The home button, this is also the pause button for when you are in the middle of a game, or you can quit back to the main wii menu, this also tells you how much battery life you have left in your remote, so its a good thing to use.

      The plus and minus are not really used for too much but they can be used in certain games for things, this you would have to again read the manual.

      Then lastly there is the 1 and 2 button, again these are not really used for much but they are there if you need them in any sort of game.

      The back off the remote
      =================

      On here you have your B button which is again used for different things depending on the game, so you will need to check.

      The you have the battery cover to take tthis off you just pull the clip up and the back will very easily slide off, the remote takes 2 AA batteries, but they do eat batteries like mad so I would recommend buying rechargable batteries they maybe a little bit more expensive but in the long run they will work out cheaper.

      Then there is the motion sensor at the bottom of the remote, for this there is a lock button which you need to move to unlock to be able to take the motion sensor off.

      The sides of the remote
      ====================

      These are really just plain with not much on them, but you do however have the clips to take off the motion sensor once you have moved the back button to unlock you have to push in the buttons at the side to be able to take off the motion sensor.

      Also at the bottom of the motion sensor is where the Nunchuck plugs in or it can be put in place of the motion sensor, however I did find that the remote was really no good without a motion sensor so you should have no need to unplug it.

      How to sync your remote
      ====================

      Now this is something I had to google as I did not have a clue, your remote will not work until it has been synced with your wii. To do this you need to make sure you have inserted batteries, then turn on your wii console maually and lift down the SD card cover, also take off the battery cover off your wii remote.

      On the remote you will then need to press and release the red button that is near the battery compartment. Once you've done that you should notice the remote blinking. As soon as you see the lights you will need to press and release the red sync button on the Wii console. Then it should all be ready and working.

      my overall opinion
      ===============

      Well really what can you say about this remote, it is really a must as your wii won't work, the remotes do work well, and the motion sensor does work well, but you do have to make sure you have the remote pointing at the sensor bar.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Very decent bit of kit, shame its not used more

      The nintendo wii remote is a well known controller, and is unique to all other game controllers before it in which ALL games are played by a point or moving based action. Previously only certain light gun games were available using a pointing motion, and these were not very good, or played often, and the controllers didn't work particularly well either. When nintendo first announced this was their new controller, it seemed that the future of gaming was here, no longer would shooter games be about mashing buttons on a keypad, but it would be like you were holding an actual gun in your hand, pointing it at your enemy, and blasting them away. Same seemed to apply for tennis (an actual racket), golf etc etc and so forth.

      Sadly though, I am not convinced that the full potential of the wii remote has been realised yet. I personally think it is a lack of games, as the number of games on the wii that fully use the wii remote capabilities that I know consistent of COD, ghost squad, wii sports, the wii dancing games, wii sports resort, zelda, wii play and goldeneye. Almost all the rest of the game that I have played "suffer" by using the wii remote. (e.g. madworld, the idea is that left shake is left punch, right shake is right punch, b is chainsaw, a is jump, and something is backflip. Unfortunately, trying to throw a punch with your right hand, which is also the same hand you "aim" the direction in which you look is VERY FRUSTRATING, the game would have been better with just normal controls. When I got it I thought it would be pretty seemless like wii sports, unfortunately it was way to glitchy.

      This is seen in other wii games as well, such as winter sports, and many other wii titles. In some games this detracts from the experience rather than add to it.

      However, in the few occasions where it adds a genuine feel, wow what a feeling. There is nothing like playing ghost squad for example, and putting your wii remote in a little "gun" holder, so it feels like an actual gun, and blasting at the screen. It feels like a bona-fide arcade game.

      Ok, few things to look out for if you are getting one of these. First up, get one with built in wii motion plus. You can get a wii motion add on, but honestly its a bit of a faff. Second up these things are not cheap, expect £20 minimum. Furthermore avoid 3rd party controllers. For PS2 and xbox, i have played many 3rd party controllers and for the most part they are ok. But on the wii they are diabolical, I am not entirely sure why. Also I would recommend in investing in some rechargable batteries unless you want to spend a small fortune on batteries. You can also buy specific battery packs for the wii remotes, but I have never tries them. Also the wii remotes apparently don't work with some tv's, I do not know the details, but check before you get them.

      Overall I give them 4/5, I think they are brilliant, but a bit expensive and not properly used due to the lack of games that makes good use of them. Hope that helps everyone.

      Changed gaming

      The edition of the Nintendo Wii has no doubt changed the gaming world for ever. The Nintendo Wii remote is about 7 inches long and is small in size compared to normal console controllers.The Nintendo Wii remote is no doubt the controller which stands out in the console world. No one has yet to match the quality of this unique controller.

      It has sound built in to so you hear the noise of smacking the tennis ball straight from your Wii Remote!Controlling the remote is fairly simple make sure you have got a tight grip of the controller. At first when i use to use this controller i use to find it easy to let loose of it and it would end up flying up some where!

      You really need to make sure you are in a good place when playing games with the remote. You need space around you so you do not hit somebody else! The skin which comes with the Wii remote is there to protect you when playing the Wii.

      When you play a game for too long and your hands get sweaty you can easily let slip of the Nintendo Wii remote. If you have removed the skin then its likely you can drop your Wii remote when playing the games. Its always safer to have the skin on as its protects you incase you drop the Nintendo Wii remote by accident.

      The Nintendo Wii remote is a top edition to the console world and has changed it around. I think this controller is very good and has changed the gaming world. It brings plenty of fun and playing with others plus moving your hand around gives you some exercise while playing! Not bad is it!

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A must have for the wii

      A couple of years ago when the wii was first released one of our Christmas presents to use as a family was the wii console. We were all very excited about using the wii and were all very eager to have a go.

      In order to use the wii it comes with 1 controller. If like us you want to play as a family you can buy extra controllers from various retailers such as Argos, amazon and other gaming stores.

      The design of the wii controller is fairly simple. The body of the Wii Remote measures 148 mm long, 36.2 mm wide, and 30.8 mm thick. Being quite thin makes the controller easy to hold and grip tightly, it is much like holding a remote.

      As well as being easy to hold the controller is also very light making it easy to move around and play with. The added wrist strap makes the controller comfortable to use and gives the user peace of mind that you are not going to throw the controller during game play. This may seem unlikely but it happened to us during a vigorous game of tennis and ended with a shattered light bulb. The wrist strap can be adjusted to fit any wrist size without any difficulty.

      All of the buttons on the wii controller are very self explanatory. You have the power button, directonal buttons, A and B, Home, Plus and minus and buttons 1 and 2 which enable the user to switch between roles when playing a game with somebody else.

      The buttons do not interupt gameplay and are of a good size.

      The controller also has a speaker inside it which adds to the gameplay experience. The sound is very clear and does not become at all muffled when shaking the controller during gameplay. For games such as wii fit this comes in very handy as you can do some exercises whilst watching the telly and still keep track of your progress by listening to the speaker.

      In order to use the wii controller you need to insert 2 AA batteries. I have found that the controllers are fairly good when it comes to battery power and they tend to last a long time, however this will also depend on how often you play on your wii.

      The controller works with the wii sensor bar to point at the image on the television. This is very simple and something that anyone of any age would be able to understand, this is what makes the wii such a great family game.

      One of these wii remote controllers will cost you around £15 online. This may seem a bit expenisve but it is definitely worth it to get all of the family or all of your friends playing the wii.
      All in all I really like this controller. It is easy to use and provides the user with a fun but comfortable gaming experience. I give this one the full 5 stars.
