Disadvantages: Not a long range

eWireless sensor

With Little Miss liking her wii, and liking even more to carry it from bedroom to lounge, depending on who she wants to play with, I decided to buy her a wireless sensor so there was less chance of her getting trapped in all the wires. Since she is not a keen gamer and likes just to get on with it, I didn't want to spend a fortune so this fit the bill exactly.

WHAT IS IT?

Not knowing anything about gaming and being very uninterested in the whole thing, this had to be simple and easy to set up. Basically, it's just a long metal strip which sits on top of the tv and from this links up to the hand controls...I think that's what it does!

PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...

The product comes in hard plastic casing requiring cutting to get into it with the instructions and details on the back.

Once inside, I get exactly what I expected and wanted- a sensor without wires.

USING IT...

This really is very simple, so simple that even i managed. Insert 4x AA batteries into the battery area at the back- thankfully this just slides open so i don't have to root around for a screw driver at the critical moment. Put it on top of the tv and switch the small on/off button to "on" and the games are ready to be played.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY...

I bought mine from amazon for the princely sum of £3.20 so I wasn't going to be too upset if it wasn't great.

VERDICT...

The first thing that struck me was the strange way in which the instructions were written- "use 2 pieces of AA batteries". Not only did I find the writing of all the instructions strange but it actually uses 4 x AA batteries- fortunately I always have a supply in the house.

For what we wanted this has been perfectly adequate although it can lose its sensor ability if you move too far away from it. I think once you get out of about the 4 foot range then it's very hitty missy. However, since Little Miss and her friends always want to be close to the tv this isn't a problem, just for me when I sit on the sofa and play sofa Super mario!

The one real problem I have encountered isn't really a product problem but the fact that it doesn't seem to get switched off so we need lots of batteries.
A very reasonably priced product which does the job as I needed and is saving Little Miss from tripping down the stairs as she hauls her wii from room to room.

Thanks for reading.

We just keep our Wii in the living room, so the wired one is just fine for us... x
