Advantages: The whole concept works so well
Disadvantages: Could be used to avoid paying for games
For those of who you who don't know what this is, it's a card and software combination for your Nintendo DS that allows you to load and play files from a Micro SD card.
This is useful for many reasons, it means you can use your DS to run homebrew (home made, ie not released for sale) applications, for instance on mine I have had a web browser, msn, an irc client, and organiser and many other handy programs. Also it allows you to play homebrew games too.
Of course the big attraction of the card is you can run ROMs of DS games from it, now before everyone screams of piracy look at it another way. Next time you go on holiday or a long car journey with the kids wouldn't it be easier to have all their DS games on one card rather than bringing 10 or 20 games? Well with this card you can do that.
In the box you get the main cartridge, which is the same size and shape as a normal DS car. A usb to Micro SD card adaptor and a micro SD card the size on this will range from 1GB to 8GB depending on what package you bought.
Using the card is simple, you take the micro SD car out of the cartridge and slot it into the adaptor to put plug into your computer. You open it up in explorer and simply drag and drop the files across. It really is that easy, when done, put the micro SD back into cartridge, then in to your DS and play away.
I've had no problems with this card, it's reliable, well priced and veru useful.
Summary: This works exactly as it should

- 10/07/09 Welcome to Dooyoo
A good start here
However what do you mean as Homebrew applications? Do you get an adaptor to which this card can be slotted in before you plug it into your PC?
A bit more info could clarify a few more details here, particularly for future buyers like me..
If you update your review pls message me. |
