Advantages: easier than the controller, batteries included

Disadvantages: not too pleasing on he eye, or comfortable to hold

This remote control was a godsend after a year of using the controller to try to skip through adverts and scenes in movies and not getting anywhere fast!

We use the PS3 predominantly as a dvd player these days and felt a bit lost without a 'dootdoot'. This remote resolved that!
Runs on 2 AA batteries (which come with it...bargain!) and connects wirelessly to the PS3.
It has an identical set up to a standard remote control, which makes it much easier for the kids to watch DVD's themselves.

It is quite long, which is strange considering the buttons finish about 3-4inches away from the bottom. What is that space for?? Very strange.

Its not too ergonomic either, most digi remotes etc kind of FIT into your hand and are shaped to do this. This remote is simply a rectangle and I think that the design of this could have been more thought out in this sense.

However, the plusses outweigh the minuses in all cases with this, as it is just sooo much easier to use than the controller!

Summary: great investment if you watch movies on the PS3
