The Playstation 2 can be made to look like on big balck Japanese skyscraper.

The Playstation 2 has been designed so that it can be located in two different positions. It can be placed horizontally (On top of a VCR or on top of a digi' box etc.) or B vertically (on a desk e.g.)

The playstation 2’s vertical stand allows the user to locate it in an upright position. This does make the console look more like a PC tower and in my opinion it does look better in this position. This Playstation logo is also rotatable to accommodate for the differences in location.

The Playstation 2 does have little rubber feet on both the horizontal base and the vertical base, but while placing the console on the horizontal base without a stand will do it no harm, placing it vertical may cause damage. The PS2 would be very unstable and would be very likely to topple over, especially from an over excited pull of the joypad.

The vertical stand does add a little style to the console, adding a purple triangular base to it, but is these little pieces of purple plastic worth a tenna? Yes if you really have the urge to pace it horizontally, due to space constrictions etc.

There are also ‘Third party stands on the market, which do only cost a fiver. They do look a little different and may have differing colours.

If you have the money and want to jazz up the cost a little the vertical stand may com in handy.
