Like I've mentioned in previous reviews we have a Nintendo Wii at our house which I absolutely love for its authenticity and playability. I'm not into shoot em up games or anything like that but the role playing games that are offered on the Wii are some of my favourite. We bought the Wii years ago, shortly after it came out and with it came the Wii sports game which included various games such as bowling, tennis and golf. I think its a testament to how good the game is that we still play it now and still get maximum enjoyment out of it. Often we have friends round with some beer/wine and have Wii tournaments, golf being one of our favourite games.
Now, I am no budding Tiger Woods and in fact I think I do ok for a girl in that I can actually complete a proper round of golf but sometimes those little white balls infuriate the hell out of me. That's why when it comes to Wii golf I am in my element as I am actually very good at it and often get birdies and under par scores for the whole round. In order to make the game a bit more fun and tournaments with our friends a bit more fun we bought a golf club to go along with the game. We also have one of the Tiger Woods golf games and this golf club is compatible with that also. In fact, I believe this is compatible with all golf games that you can buy for the Nintendo Wii.
So no, it's not a real golf club but it makes playing golf a bit more realistic. The white plastic club slots onto the end of the wireless remote so you benefit from not having any wires getting in your way when you are trying to swing a club. It is not an amazingly long club, no where near long enough to be classified as a proper club although it does have three adjustable levels so I can use it on a different level to my husband who is quite a bit taller than me.
When the club is on the end of the remote obviously it makes it quite a bit heavier. I never used to like, "swinging my club" with just the Wii remote as it never felt real and when playing these games I also like to do the realistic motion. I know you can just flick your wrist and the club will move on the screen in just the same way but I think the weight of the addition club gives you actually a bit better of an action and a better shot on screen.
For about £10 or less I think this is a fun investment and a nice addition when you are playing Wii golf games to make it a bit more fun and challenging.
