Advantages: Works well, pretty cheap

Disadvantages: Shouldn't have to buy it in the first place

Unfortunately, buying this piece of kit is the only way you can watch DVD's on your Xbox. I thought this was a bit cheap from Microsoft who obviously knew that people were going to watch DVD's on their Xbox.

But anyway, apart from the fact that you have to buy it, the accessory itself is very good. The sensor is high quality and you won't have any trouble trying to use the remote. It is also very small and plugs into one of the controller ports, making it barely noticeable. Also, it's black in colour so blends in with the Xbox console. Just simply plug the sensor in and you're away - the installation is as easy as that.

There are a variety of buttons on the remote which all make watching a film much easier, for example, skipping chapter or returning to a previous chapter, forwarding, rewinding, play and pause etc. The buttons are large and are firm, but have a rubbery feel to them, which makes the remote more comfortable to use. There's also a "Display button" which brings up an onscreen menu for further options, such as 10x magnification and subtitles.

You can get this remote for pretty cheap now (£7.80 on Amazon) so if you haven't upgraded to a 360 yet, then this accessory is really essential and you won't be disappointed.
